Meet The Vickers Wellington:
The Vickers Wellington was an interwar bomber built by Vickers-Armstrong that saw use throughout the entirety of the Second World War under the RAF. First as a bomber and later as an anti-submarine and trainer aircraft, the Wellington became renowned for its durability thanks to its geodetic airframe, pioneered by the British engineering mastermind Barns Wallis, granting it a reputation like the American B-17.

This particular Wellington is a mix of the Mark I-III variants and bears the letter code of the No. 311 RAF Czech bomber squadron (KX), which operated Wellingtons for some time.
--------------------
The aircraft is half a meter off on wingspan and height from being 1:1 scale, and the exterior is an almost perfect mix of the Mk II/III Wellingtons. The interior, however, is a different story. It is not accurate, and the windows are a bit off and there are no waist gunns.

It flies smoothly and manuevers and behaves like a bomber (takeoff excluded). The bombsight is as accurate as it gets, and it was common for WWII-era bombers to be way off the target, so don’t get mad at me if you miss a small house. And the payload, 20 bombs, is nothing to disregard. The aircraft can fly with one engine, and you can use the topside hatch to repair stuff mid-flight.

Startup:
  • Enter the aircraft through hatches on the sides of the fuselage (marked with white arrows) and get to the cockpit.
  • Look around the right instrument panels for the battery switch. Turn that on.
  • Now to the right again, find the topmost switches labeled “Engine 1”, “Engine 2”, and “Fuel Pumps”. Turn those on, and your engine should be running.
  • Look around the bottom-most row of switches for the “Release Wheel Brake” switch.
  • Now throttle up. The fins I installed under the wing skin give it STOL capabilities, but they also allow the heavy aircraft to fly.
  • Once you do take off, return to the bottom-most row of switches and find the “Retract Landing Gear” switch. Turn that on, and you’re all set for your sortie!
The Navigator Role:
  • As the note at the navigator station says, use the instruments to help guide the pilot. You are at your peak usefulness during night/bad weather flights.
  • Call out altitude, speed, and orientation while the pilot focuses on the flying.
The Bombardier Role:
  • Simply sit in the seat and get ready to drop the bombs. You’ll want to turn on the “Open Bomb Bay Doors” and “Arm Bombs” switches right before you enter the bombing zone.
  • Zooming in does not help the bombing accuracy. It should only be used when high-up. Expect low accuracy at high altitudes.
  • Communicate with the pilot to line up perfectly on the target.
Specifications:
  • Top Speed (Loaded): ~145 Knots
  • Top Speed (Unloaded): ~152 Knots
  • Cruise Throttle: .75
  • Full Throttle Range (Loaded): ~130 Minutes, ~600km
  • Full Throttle Range (Unloaded)” ~130 Minutes, ~620km
  • Cruise Throttle Range (Loaded): ~224 Minutes, ~787km
  • Cruise Throttle Range (Unloaded): ~223 Minutes, ~833km
  • Fuel Capacity (Per Tank) ~4284 Liters
  • Crew Capacity: Pilot, Navigator, Bombardier, Nose Gunner, Tail Gunner.
  • Armament: 2x .303. Browning M1919 machine guns in each of the two turrets || 20 Bombs divided into two sets.
  • XML Content: High (30 Parts, all pipes that make up the geodetic airframe)
Final Words
:If something needs fixed, you have a suggestion, or want to leave a word about this aircraft, use the comment section down below. I do not take requests for 1:1 scale replicas of aircraft! I work at my own pace and desire.

You can expect a passenger variant of my Wellington and a fighter in the future, respectively.

@GojiraGamer, I am planning on revamping this, and I also have a Vickers-Vimy looking thing with most of the exterior done, so yes

I just released a fix that brought down altitude hold drop to 0.005 meters/second (rounded to 0.01 in the simple tool tip detailing). Thanks for that bug report!

Huh...let me check that out

0.75+ and in no wind. higher throttle reduces rate of decent but full doesn't stop it.

What conditions are you flying at and what throttle?
FlyingOsprey 2022 年 9 月 9 日 下午 1:19
The alt hold struggles to hold altitude it constantly descends at ~0.33 m/s
