The Chimaera MK2 is a high mobility shield based destroyer. If your shield is gone, you are dead. If only one Shield extender goes, the whole ship will chain and gut itself. So play it safe and always remember to recharge shields timely.
The ship is mostly unarmored with a steel hull and some xeno blocks in front of the fusion core.

As fighting goes, charge into close range while doing some dodging and burn down your opponents shields. You need to be closer than 500m for the Gamma Laser Turrets to start firing. If possible try to exploit weaknesses in enemy firing arcs (e.g. attack Toveras from the side, directly at the tip of the "arms").
Once shields are down reduce enemy turrets enough that you can somewhat safely aim for the core. If your shields go low, run back out of firing range. While charging shields yoiu can use the long range cruise and railguns to get occasional shots at your opponent, to keep his shield down, while staying out of their close range weapons.

Shield upgrades are somewhat optional. They will add a lot of shield and shield recharge, but also slow you down quite a bit due to their weight.
