Diesel Tanker Train Car

This is a tanker train car setup to carry diesel fuel. It uses a personally designed micro-controller to control the brakes and transfer data along the full length of a train. It can hold a little over 60,000 Liters of diesel fuel. There are hose anchors on the sides to both load and unload the cargo tank. There are also hose anchors on the front and back of the car to allow it to be used as an auxiliary fuel tank for a locomotive on either end. There is a ladder on both ends to climb on top of the tanker and an access hatch to climb inside the tank on top and in the middle of the catwalk. The catwalk has guard rails allowing a person to walk on the car even if the train is moving.

There is a panel on the front of the car to control the brakes for the car and allow remote control of the brakes from an external vehicle. The external control switch must be flipped when the car is connected to a locomotive or another car. The reversed vehicle switch is to be activated if the data from the controlling vehicle is coming from the back of the car. The switch tells the controller which way to transmit data through the car connectors and to the rest of the train.

Loading and unloading the tank is very simple. There are red toggle buttons to activate the different unloading pumps in the tank. Green toggle buttons are used to activate the loading pumps. The loading pumps are only found on the sides while unloading pumps are on the sides and ends.
