I guess the original author just changed description and name of the gun itself, as the original SWEP seems to be the MG08/15 from BF1 instead.
And yeah I believe that the National Revolutionary Army does have some captured Japanese weapons, as well as that I heard about Soviets handing their captured Japanese equipment to the Chinese Communist forces, which they have used in the following civil war against Kuomintang forces.
It's probably originally just a MG08 SWEP, but was changed into Type 24 by someone else.
