Defeating Eikthyr affects the following world events:

Disables: "Eikthyr rallies the creatures of the forest"
Enables: "The forest is moving..." (if The Elder hasn't been defeated)

Defeating Eikthyr unlocks Greydwarfs to spawn in the Meadows at night. They can only have 0 stars.

2. The Elder

First of the Forest, King-in-the-Wood, Lord over those who dwell at his feet. His roots will grow where cities once stood, their blood his wine, their flesh his meat.

The power of the forest invigorates you. You shall gather its bounties faster, just as you shall regain your own vitality should you lose it.

Lasts 5 minutes and has a cooldown of 20 minutes.
- With 4 players you can have a everlasting buff, if used on rotation within the party.

World Changes

Defeating The Elder affects the following world events:

Disables: "The forest is moving..."
Enables: "A foul smell from the swamp" (if Bonemass hasn't been defeated)
Enables: "The ground is shaking" (if a Troll has died in the world)

Defeating The Elder unlocks several creatures to spawn at night in unusual biomes. They can only have 0 stars.

3. Bonemass

Wanderer, look to your feet, that tread upon our tomb.
One thousand bones without their meat, will drag you to your doom.

The mass takes the brunt of your blows. The effort required to raise your shield lessens, and you can withstand harder hits.

Enables: Blobs and Oozers "A foul smell from the swamp".
Enables: "Skeleton Surprise".
Enables: "A cold wind blows from the mountains" (if Moder hasn't been defeated).
Enables: "There's a smell of sulfur in the air" (if a Surtling has died).
Enables: "You are being hunted".

Defeating Bonemass unlocks Skeletons to spawn at night in the Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp (additional), Mountain and Plains. They can only have 0 stars.

4. Moder

Black wings across the moon and sun, down from the mountain our mother comes.
Her weeping tears will fall like rain, her voice will call us home again.

Moder's power

The dragon's wings urge you on. You shall always have tailwind while sailing, and you shall swiftly carry heavy burdens, even over the coldest mountains.

The wind direction is only changed while steering the ship.
The wind change is local to each player carrying the buff and does not affect each other's wind direction.
Lasts 5 minutes and has a cooldown of 20 minutes.

Defeating Moder affects the following world events:

Disables: "A cold wind blows from the mountains"
Enables: "The horde is attacking" (if Yagluth hasn't been defeated)

5. Yagluth

Long ages past, he wore a crown, beneath a blood-red sky.
Now naught is left of all he was, but his spirit cannot die.

Defeating The Queen unlocks Seeker to spawn at night in the Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, Mountain and Plains, as well as unlocks Seeker brood and Tick at night in Mistlands.
Only Tick can spawn with multiple stars.

7. Fader

A father noble and proud, he soared through skies of fire.

@qwerm -- Yes, it's blockable with a tower shield, but a decent tower shield is a pain for the Elder fight where being able to move fast out of the way - just doesn't make it worth it. I'm a heavy user of tower shields, but that's one fight where I don't bother. Elder has a mark on his chest - front & back - aim for that with a bow. Does way more damage. Avoid everything else and you'll be fine.
