Tyria aged better than all of us, and Guild Wars is still stupidly fun after 20 years.
Started as a teenager. I’ve seen guildmates grow up, disappear, come back with kids.
Now i'm the adult with a family and back pain. Somehow the game is still alive and kicking.

On a serious note
Pros:
+ No subscription fee!
+ Game is very alive again.
+ Tactical gameplay, tho you still need some skill.
+ No gear treadmill, easy to return after long breaks.
+ Super deep buildcrafting, experimentation is endless.

Cons:
- Rooted combat. It will take some getting used to.

Having poured most of that time in World vs World. A place there battles are the stuff of legend, where the line between epic victory and facepalm worthy defeat is thinner than the armor on my human female. I can also confidently say I've witnessed the strategic brilliance of my server (or the lack thereof) and formed alliances that could rival any dysfunctional family reunion. To say I've developed a love hate relationship with this game is a massive understatement.

On a serious note
Pros:
+ No subscription fee!
+ Incredibly fluent and dynamic combat system.
+ No gear treadmill, easy to return after long breaks.
+ Friendly and welcoming community, tho in sPvP & WvW less so.

Cons:
- Story / Lore feel watered down compared to Guild Wars 1.
- Races have lost their unique edge, acting more human like.
- Narrative avoids dark themes and plays it too safe.
