Due to an extreme amount of rude comments, I need to remind the community that we will not take kindly to abuse. Please read the description of this mod carefully before leaving a rude comment. We are not trying to take a swing at Dubs and his Rimefeller, and we are NOT 'copying' or 'stealing' someone's idea - the idea is simply too generic (drilling and refining fuel) to reasonably call it 'copying'. We are simply doing our own spin on it. If you dislike it, leave a thumbs down and move on.

If you still want to leave a comment how "we should stop modding, be ashamed and even kill ourselves", be aware we will remove it and you will be reported.

Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded is a small mod created to showcase what the new Pipe network code is capable of in Vanilla Expanded framework. It adds a simple chain to extract Deepchem from the underground pockets and refine it into Chemfuel. It also adds storage solutions for both Deepchem and standard chemfuel, alongside a few structures including a Refinery and Chemfuel tap.

Player can now connect any refuelable chemfuel-powered structures to the pipe network to make sure everything refuels automatically.

This mod is not trying to dethrone Dubs Rimefeller, or anything like this. Our programmer, Kikohi, developed a pipe network code that’s available in the framework. Any modder can use it to add their own pipe networks into the game, as well as machines that consume the new resources.

This mod serves as a Vanilla Expanded proof of concept, adding a brand new resource that needs to be found using a deep-mineral scanner and refined. You can now gain huge quantities of chemfuel in late game if you want to create the required refineries and pumpjacks!

A: Can I add it mid-playthrough to an existing save?
A: Yes, definitely.

Q: Does this work with Combat Extended?
A: Yes.

Q: How do I find Deepchem?
A: Pockets of deepchem appear when scanning using the ground-penetrating scanner.

Q: Can I use deepchem instead of chemfuel?
A: No, deepchem slurry is way too thick. You need to refine it into chemfuel using refineries.

Q: Does it work with any mod adding oil/refining/pipes?
A: Yes, it does!

Q: Why tho, Rimefeller is super cool!
A: Agreed, but it also adds plastic and stuff I don’t like. On top of that, as I said above, we made our own pipe code that any modder can use! This mod is a vanilla-friendly proof of concept what our code can do. You are still allowed to like Rimefeller, hell, I love it myself.

The entire pipe network system is highlighted in a bright green, I've tried to press buttons to see if that disables it but that didn't work.

I don't think this is a bug but I don't really know how to fix it, please tell me how to fix it or if i've missed a keybind.

Not sure what everyone is talking about, I use VGE and this mod and my astro tanks work fine.

That said, I'd love to see something to make this mod work better with gravship-focused nomadic runs. Maybe a feature that causes tiles to have a deepchem reservoir already available when you land, or something? It's not really practical to wait for weeks after landing to finally scan some with the scanner, but with the way astrofuel works, the mod is just begging for me to use deepchem otherwise.

Can confirm for anyone else that this mod does not work with the new gravship expanded as well. It appears it thinks the astrofuel containers are meant to contain chemfuel, and removes it from the astrofuel network, so you can't connect it to engines/drains

Use rimefeller for now.

Does this play with gravship expanded? I added it back into my modlist and the astrofuel tanks are displaying chemfuel levels

an idea, can the deepchem be located like how wells in hygiene mod works? some areas instead of being more blue, it becomes more red with deepchem.

Thanks for the mod, Pumping the fuel directly to buildings is a great idea!

I have two suggestions:
1-Allow the pipes to also work with the Infinite Chemreactor and Biofuel Refinery to send fuel into the Chemfuel Tank.
2-Add a mod setting to adjust the DeepChem-to-Chemfuel conversion ratio or the DeepChem extraction ratio. To let players customize the difficulty to make the process a little harder.

You'd be surprised how territorial people get with mods they run.

People enjoy Rimefeller by Dubs, for the right reasons too, it's a cool mod.

But god forbid someone else releases something similar. It's as if their own mod is threatened. As if I tried to take it away from them and force them to use my own.

I see the same now with Gravship Expanded. SoS fans trying to blow out my candle to make theirs shine brighter.

I personally don't like the fact that you need to discover deposits by using the scanner, because it's a chance that competes against deposits of other resources. You spend days scanning, and you find a subterranean source of plasteel, one of helixien gas, one of gold... and I'm still waiting for the second source of fuel since the first one dried out. Is there an option to make the deposits infinite?
