GIM-3 Helix Medium-Range SAM System

DESCRIPTION

The GIM-3 "Helix" MEDRAD/Medium-Range Air Defence system is a modular SAM system based off of further developed technology owing to the GIM-5 "Spiral" program. The key qualities of the GIM-3 "Helix" include being mobile, effective and act as not only a deterrence - but a legitimate method of retaining friendly airspace. The GIM-3 has a much longer range and effectiveness for air defence, owing to it's 6 AIM-7C Air-To-Air missiles repurposed for SAM usage.

The AIM-7C missiles are extremely reliable and are capable of hitting side-aspect & front/rear aspect shots. They are designed for high-flying/high-speed manoeuvring targets owing to the AIM-7C's origins as an air-to-air missile further supplementing the GIM-3's MEDRAD role.

BUTTON DEFINITIONS:

- MANUAL CONTROL: This will let you take control of where the fire control radar points at.

- TGT: Abbreviated for "target", this will point all the guns at the radar/laser target you are looking at. It will also transmit GPS coordinates of that target via radio.

- LAS: Abbreviated for "laser", this will turn on the laser and send laser gps co-rdinates and allow you to point the guns where the camera is facing.

- RECIEVE JTAC COORDINATES: The turrets will point at received JTAC coordinates. This requires another transmitter to be actively transmitting coordinates on the same frequency to work.

HOW TO USE: (PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING)

To manually guide the SAM:
- Press ACTIVATE SYSTEM
- Press MANUAL CONTROL
- Press TGT
- Use the monitor to aim towards your target with WASD
- Press LAUNCHER MASTER ARM:
- Fire using your trigger button (Default = Spacebar)

To guide the SAM with leader-follower:
- Press ACTIVATE SYSTEM
- Press RECIEVE JTAC COORDINATES:
- Input the correct radio frequency, make sure the other SAM has the same frequency.
- Press LAUNCHER MASTER ARM:
- Aim using the leader SAM with the previous instructions. Fire using trigger (Default = Spacebar)
