-is a quote that describes the RT45 incredibly well. The thought of slapping a massive turbine engine in a 16.5 meter RIB was tempting enough for no one to think about fuel economy or general usability. Despite this, a few were still built and put into SAR. With its turbine and water jet propulsion, the damn thing has good agility and decent speed, at the cost of fuel efficiency.

The RT45s present around Sawyer, 01 Arcturus, 02 Acrux, and 03 Antares are all used as short range auxiliary SAR vessels, useful where the larger vessels aren't. The few other boats of the same class were sold to other places around the world, mostly being put into the same role.

Despite their flaws, they're still usable boats that do their job well. With its large amount of modern equipment making up for its lacking range and economy, the RT45s are pretty decent actually. put it to good use or ill find you




Operation

ENGINE: turn fuel pump on and turn the key. When the compressor light is turned off you may throttle up and go do whatever. If its struggling to start you've probably forgotten the fuel pump or turned on the water cannon. Since the water cannon uses engine power, it can't start if its connected.

STEERING: Due to the water jets, the RT45 can almost turn on the spot at lower speeds. Reversing can also be utilised to change direction faster.

WATER CANNON: Set the throttle lever to idle and turn the key on the cannon operating station. Power from the turbine will only be diverted to the cannon pump if it isn't needed elsewhere. The display shows you: cannon movement, turbine RPS with pump RPS, water pressure, and a bar to show how much power is diverted to it.

HEADING HOLD: If toggled when the desired heading is set to 0, it will keep the current heading. You can steer while the hold is enabled, but it will attempt to go back to the previous heading unless you change the desired one.

TRANSPONDER LOCATOR: This will indicate the estimated distance to the closest transponder. It will also draw a circle with the estimated distance as the radius on the map.
