I found the culprit mod for the colonists not going to bed, (keep bed ownership)

Again, CSL is great. I did have a problem with young non mobile babies starving to death because moms didn't take care of them.

You may be confusing this mood with the main CSL mod. This mod only does the reversible operations.

Not sure if it does, my new 1.6 colonists aren't willing to go to bed. The mod doesn't show up on the options to do settings in game.

It's a great mod, I don't know if there is a similar quality equivalent. If you're going to give it up maybe contact Mile about taking it over.

This and a dependent mod that allows reversible sterilisation has been a mainstay of my games for a long time, hate to lose the functionality.

I haven't played rimworld for the last several releases. Have you tried using this in 1.6? If it works I think mlie maintains a meta mod that edits the version compatibility portion of the mod in order to squash the warnings.

Does this work in existing saves?

Wouldn't want to play the main mod without it, lest you don't mind to manage a colony of uh, "rabbits" ^.^

You probably want to add some dependencies to the mods for further clarity (there basically is no point using this mod without them) and visibility (when people search for a mod name, they usually are interested in add-ons too) :
