The sub does still function as is. It also seems you can update to the new EK 1.0 or whatever it is, however due to EK's mods being carried over by someone else entirely, i cannot promise that the sub will get continued support.

Theres a lot wrong with EK's turrets that were broken thanks to 1.0, at least from what ive read, and since the sub is made using several of EKs parts, i dont think itd be proper to remove them entirely.
I did make a new sub without the need of EK however, if you'd like to give it a looksie. Its not exactly as silly in design, but im quite happy with how it turned out.

I was originally for when it updated to tier 3 after the update that introduced it.

This sub was a silly thing that i put together as a first sub. It *should* be very well rounded. It was heavily designed with three ideologies in mind. It was largely built for two people (regardless of how manageable that is), for Campaign, and with plenty room to grow.

It was built around EK : Armory, EK : Utility, EK Dockyard, EK Gunnery, and Visual Variety Pack. It also has some extra space in the Storage Room for a T.I.T.A.N. power suit, but its not required. (You could totally just slap another railgun rack in there or more storage crates or, really anything you need/want)

It is NOT built with PVP or Traitor in mind.

A more In Depth Look:

This sub is again built for a skeleton crew or smaller, but im sure you could get a ton out of it regardless of how many peeps you have.

All the wiring in the sub is exposed save for parts of the docking mechanism, which is hidden beside the docking hatch. I firmly believe that you should be able to see and modify everything thats being used via wiring. Theres also no extra frills or whistles involved. The only major mechanisms built are the Airlock, Back-up Batteries, a flood detection system on wifi, and a meltdown alarm on wifi. Theres also very little subeditor wizardry at work. Anything placeable was set up to be on the grid, and with modifications that can be attained via stock. Meaning that all the wiring in the sub right now could be totally ripped out, and rewired in game without worry of needing the sub editor.

There are a ton of guns on this ship, and most of the hardpoints are dual turrets. This will pose as a boon but also a challenge thanks to the games built in system requiring you to change both turrets on any given hardpoint.
So while youll have twice the power, youll also have twice the cost for upgrading them. In addition to that, they also draw twice as much ammo and twice as much power.
To compensate on the power though, there *is* a little bit of wizardry. Some 'experimental' batteries and super capacitors were put in that have double the vanilla capacity (40 for the super capacitors, and 4000 for the batteries vs their standard 20, 2000) In my headcanon, lab the sub was stolen from was implementing experimental batteries into the sub that were more powerful than standard batteries. But if you dont like it, feel free to change those in the sub editor P:

The ship starts with almost nothing save for whats in the lockers. Even the gun implements are bare bones with the low end Surplus Coilguns which deal less damage and use more power per shot(atleast im pretty sure :P EK is renowned for not explaining anything) This falls in line with my earlier stated ideologies of campaign and room to grow. I wanted a sub that i could build up as i went along, not just upgrading through the upgrade menu, but also with plenty of room to expand and such (mostly accomplished by EK Utility and Armory, and T.I.T.A.N. but im sure theres plenty of other mods that could be use in junction with these to further expand on.) Theres empty space for a medical fab, theres plenty of space in Engineering for the various other fabricators, or more ammo storage, or storage in general. A bit extra space in.

Its also panda shaped because.. i thought itd be neat P: Im sure some of you clownies out there will get plenty of a kick out of it.
That said this sub is *not* built for Traitor enabled. Theres no holding area for prisoners either, save for the central hub *maybe* (all of the doors should require keycards to open)

Additional notes:
AI are smarter than when they were when i made this sub. Its crazy i know.
They can now open doors with external buttons as opposed to the ones with built in ones. With this, ive finally updated the ai pathing.
Be warned however. You may still want to block off the airlocks! They are still incredibly stupid and will airlock themselves after conveniently forgetting their suit! To do this, hold down SHIFT when standing next to the airlock door and select the NO hand. -w-
[5/10/22] The AI sometimes gets stuck on the airlock door when trying to path to fix certain leaks in the airlock.. *i think*
Its also still incredibly dumb and will open the damn door to the airlock if its set to fix damaged machinery and such, since the pump in there sometimes breaks down. Guess the AI just wants us to be on our toes :P

Placeable Deconstructors cannot be picked back up again, and likely some of the other custom fabricators. So do keep in mind when placing those down.
This has since been fixed

All placeable fabricators/deconstructors do tie into the boats upgrade system (but you will need to undock/redock after youve placed them before the game will recognize their presence)

Do NOT pick any of the weird variants for the turrets, like Rear, or w/e. Its not built for those and quite frankly i havent the slightest idea what theyre for XD Most of the other turrets will work fine though.

The heavy railgun loader base has two heavy railgun shell racks hidden behind it. This is because at this current time, when you purchase a heavy railgun, the loader turns into its legacy loader(according to the item naming) which is vertical like the other loaders. This MAY change in the future, but for now, i thought itd be a neat little trick for when you buy the gun, almost as if they 'give' you some complementary racks along with the loader change, since that kind of thing doesnt actually exist in the game.
This doesnt work like that anymore sadly. Ive removed the extra racks for now. If you want them back, i can put them.. somewhere. just let me know where youd like to see them.

I *believe* it is currently broken. I havent had time to open the game up with the sub, but i do know that some of EKs stuff is outdated, and has a new version out specifically for 1.0. So i will probably have to swap things out and likely rebalance everything.
Sadly i cant work on a task that large right this moment, as i have a mountain of other things that need me, but when i get time, i'll sit down and hammer out a fix... unless someone else beats me to it P:

Also feedback would be nice. I do recall that the batteries and all that functioned a little differently when i first made this sub. If its too OP or if its underwhelming, lemmie know.
When i played, this sub ran somewhat alright with only occasional brownouts until things got upgraded (though i noticed this depended on who was driving the sub :P)

When i first made this sub, the heavy loader base did a cool thing when upgrading into a railgun. Instead of keeping its size, it slimmed down into a standard vertical loader.

Because of this, when you upgraded to get the heavy railgun, it would reveal 2 heavy railgun racks, as if they were given to you for free as part of the upgrade. It honestly was one of my most favorite things about the sub, since it could do something no other sub could do.

However, as i should have anticipated from the mod, this is no longer the case, much to my great disappointment, and i have only just now found this out when upgrading my own to a railgun.
Thus since it is defunct, i have very sadly removed the hidden heavy railgun racks.

If you want them back in somewhere, let me know. I guess i could stuff them in the engineering area if thats wanted. I dont want to block the area in the main storage since thats designed for the T.I.T.A.N. suit locker.

Btw idk why, but it will still say that theres a mismatch, even though i definitely have the correct mods installed and it works fine for me.

Its been a while since i prodded this. Ive booted the game up today and loaded the sub, and it seems to still be working fine after this last update. Let me know if somethings broken or needs to be updated or something.
