The New Caledonian Federal Navy is a branch of the New Caledonian Federation, created when the colony of New Caledonia led a secession of many of the frontier colonies from the oppressive Terran Coalition. The split caused a horrific 10 year interstellar war in which several hundred million lives were lost. After the war ended, the Federation emerged with a Pyrrhic victory and established itself as an interstellar power. It is now the year 2435, and the Federation is again building new starships to keep up with the violent and oppressive Terrans, in order to ensure the horrors inflicted on the frontier colonies are never allowed to occur again. The Federal Navy is charged with the protection of the Federation and it's member worlds.
