[NCF] - 'Trident' Class Light Cruiser

The Trident class was designed and then construction started from 2371 by the New Caledonian Navy in orbit of the Avalon systems gas giant, Luma, in the wake of the rising tension between the colony of New Caledonia and the Terran Coalition.

The ship class saw heavy use by the New Caledonian Federation after the Avalon system, along with several other systems, seceded from the TC and formed their own government. The ensuing interstellar war lasted between 2410 and 2420, a bloody 10 year conflict which saw hundreds of millions killed. The New Caledonian Federation emerged with a pyrrhic victory and established itself as an interstellar power.

It is now the year 2435 and the member worlds of the Federation are flourishing freely, with the New Caledonian Federal Navy at the front lines, protecting the frontier from any threats that may arise. As a freshly promoted captain, you have been given command of the venerable NCFN Trident, CCL-001, which survived the war. The Trident class is the backbone of the Federal Fleet, and you are now part of that family. Will you heed the call?

Hi there, thanks for visiting the NCF Trident page! This ship has a long history in our little group of friends, with me and CatalysmUnabridged/DestroyMEInstead working on it since before 2018, and later Mecklord coming in and helping. It has remained a constant in our ever changing building and playstyles and it remains our favourite ship to play with, and now I am hoping it becomes one of your favourites too!
