Northymbre Faction Symbol Replacer

描述


This simple mod makes use of the Raven symbol already present in the game for the invading Viking factions to replace Northymbre and Northymbre Usurpers symbols, though recolored to match their faction colors. This symbol is fitting because it was the symbol of the Danelaw. [en.wikipedia.org]

I felt that the playable Great Viking Army factions having crosses as their faction symbols, made it seem that the Danes were more devout Christians than their Saxon counterparts!

Yeah, but it just bothered me that they of all people have the Christian symbols. Alfred has a Wyvern but the VIKINGS have crosses?! This just gives them more of a Viking "feel".

Worth noting that Northymbre's King Guthfreid was a Christian, as was Guthrum/Aethelstan after losing to Alfred and establishing the Danelaw. By the time the game takes place the occupying Danes of the great army had begun to Christianize in droves as they settled among their new Saxon subjects. Northymbre would flip back and forth between Pagan and Christian kings as the period continued, but Christianity would only become more common among the Danes.
