描述
This is the fourth coach in my HS2 formation, the Buffet car. The rest of the vehicle has standard class seating.

A proper high speed train! This is my interpretation on what I would like the new trains for the HS2 High Speed Railway between London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds in the UK to be like. Heavy inspiration was taken from Hitachi and Bombardier's joint operation, but as very little is currently known about these designs, large amounts were borrowed from either existing High Speed Trains in the UK (Eurostar etc.), but also the Japanese Shinkansen.

Speaking of the Shinkansen, this train bears a lot of features that seem distinctly Japanese. Why? Well, there isn't really a British equivalent to compare it with. Besides, I like the standardisation the Japanese Stormworks community have set about, so have followed these norms with the likes of connectors and so on. I'd like to see this spread to other regions, so I've put this on myself without being remotely Japanese.

HS2, Britains' second High Speed railway, will initially open between London Euston and Birmingham Curzon Street in 2026, and will be extended North to Manchester and Leeds in the 2030s, providing much needed relief for the overcrowded, Victorian West Coast Main Line that currently serves the cities. As a result of the new design of these lines, the trains that run on them no longer need to conform to the many restrictions that apply elsewhere in the country, most notably the loading gauge. This means that HS2 trains can be substantially larger than other UK rolling stock, which came as a great benefit when designing this.
