Introducing a new industrial lawless faction : the Firm

The Firm is a interplanetary conglomerate of free minded entrepreneurs ready to take the risks inherent to setting their sight on lawless Rimworlds in the hope of earning matching profits.

The Firm is specialised in providing sub-contractors and consultants, selling medical and recreation medicine treatments as well as providing settlements with high quality and reliability security equipments.

This is a mod I made for fun and to learn modding, trying to create an industrial/lawless faction with more character than the vanilla factions that are basically random and uninspired.

The Firm's pawns are hand picked to fit the theme : apparel, weapons, traits, bionics etc. etc.

As such, beware, they are more effective than raiders from vanilla : you won't find a god-like brawler/though/melee16 pawn armed only with a crappy bow.

You won't necessarily have to fight them : If you're an industrial/spacer faction, the Firm will consider you potential customers and send you traders, it's only if relationship degrade that you're going to be raided.

But if you're a tribal faction, they may send recruiters to invite you to join modern civilisation and become a productive member of society.

This mod also include :
- Integration with Vanilla Expended team's mods as it was inspired by the core apparel, weapon and armour modules.
- Several custom settlement map for the faction : weapon workshops, education facilities, headquarters of the firm etc. etc.
- Pawns hard to recruit and enslave because snitches get stitches, most of the time you're better of killing them outright or sending them back to the firm for goodwill.
- A trader and a trade ship because the Firm is all about sweet, sweet profits.

The Firm now include pawns from the Vanilla Races Expanded : Highmate, Waster, Android, Genie, Hussar & Saurid

Great mod, A lighter version would be great though, less dependencies

Welcome back! I suggest that you should look into Zaljerem's version of the Mod so that people don't have to download so many Dependencies. His version preserved your use of them, but also allowed for players without them to enjoy the Mod.

1.4 update published with integration of the DLC Biotech and Ideology + some of the new Vanilla Extended Mods like the Vanilla Races Extended and the Memes and Structures Mod for Ideology that include a Corporate origin and a Trader Meme.

@Croctus : yes, sadly I found no way to manage hostility based on tech level so they are hostile to tribal but neutral if you choose the crashlanded start. Actually depending on my tests, they may even be hostile to industrial factions if the ideologies are conflicting.

@theothers : without the required mods, they are rough outlanders who trade in slaves, drugs and organs so they aren't interesting.

Actually the whole mod was built around theses weapons and will develop to include them even more via custom events and quests.

I plan to create other faction mods, some of them with even more requirements like biome requirements, I fully understand that this will put off some players but you can't satisfy everybody.

So are they meant to be permanently hostile to tribals? I keep getting peace talks with them that succeed but they stay at -100 reputation.

you might want to try conditional patches that allow compatibility with certain mods without requiring them.

I mean, it's your Mod, so you do you, but many of us have hundreds of Mods and don't want MORE weapons and armor spam, etc., to clog up our game.

There ARE only three optional Mods. The rest is monstrous Mod bloat. I personally wouldn't require anything but Vanilla Apparel and Vanilla Weaponry.
