I will say that using the main mod is probably the most sane option at this point, since I never took the effort to add proper AI pointers to any of the individual mods. Plus, the starting armies are slightly larger on average in the main mod than in each individual mod, which reduces the chance of AI suicide even further. Nobody's forcing you to use it, but it is more feature-complete and generally stable.

I mostly use it to prevent half the AI's from suiciding by turn 10.
Otherwise I just use your mega-mod.
