Better Alien Ruler Rewards

描述
Overhauls how Alien Ruler Rewards are implemented.

Hate how gaudy and out-of-place the Alien Ruler Armors look, but still want their fancy abilities? This mod replaces them with items that perform the same functions!

R.A.G.E Vest
  • Utility Slot Item.
  • Confers the Rage Strike ability.
  • +2 HP.

Frost Hook

Icarus Jets

This mod's "XComBetterAlienRulerRewards" .ini configuration file allows you modify many aspects of these new items, including research time, costs, black market value, and enabled abilities.

Compatibility
  • Any mods that change the Alien Ruler Armors will be made redundant, since you won't be able to obtain them in normal play. Should otherwise be compatible w/ everything more-or-less.
  • R.A.G.E Vest is compatible with WotC Vest Slot.

Known Issues
  • None at the moment.

To-do
Visual only:
  • Add unique research art.
  • Have the Frost Hook and Icarus Jets show as 3D Models on the equipped soldier.
  • Give the Frost Hook unique ice-themed grappling effects.

still bugged and as there r other mods which provides u with similar ability (like jetpacks) and with clone rulers u can even get several ruler armors its not really a recommanded mod. if the creator fix the issue i will try it again ^^

I wanna change the jump and frostbite charges I tried the DLC config files, I found jump but not frostbite, any chance I can do that on this mod?

I know this is is old, but Icarus Boots are not appearing in any of the slots available. Any ideas? Anything needed to help diagnose?

Yes this is needed but does it work with Armor upgrades?

to be honest, gaudy or not....
R.A.G.E armor original gives you: extra health AND extra armor, a free heavy or powered weapon slot (strongest multiple target long range weapons in the game) and the rage strike ability.
if this vest only gives you the ability and +2 hp.... its not even giving half of what the original gave you! does it still strike fear into other berserkers? like the rage armor giving berserkers panic if they encounter it?

How would we go about changing their item category? Trying to make em all utility items, but either I'm completely blind or there's no option in the ini

If I just want to modify the RAGE suite into a vest... Would it function just by deleting any reference not a bout RAGE or...? Sorry, I'm not really a modder, but I can read a .config and .ini decently enough.

@OnyxLock Yes to both. For the first, you just have to change what inventory slot the Jets are equipped to, should be a one line change. The second, I'm not familiar with that mod, but it sounds like you just have to remove those abilities from the armour, create a new item with those abilities, and then specify which item slot to use.
