Ford Thunderbird 02-05 Top Down / Up

描述
Dubrovnik Dynamics Presents:

2002 (-2005) Ford Thunderbird Top Down / Up Version

This version comes with a submesh, inlcuding a little driver npc behind the wheel. If the car is moving, the top is down, making the interior and driver visible. When parked, the soft top is up.

Of course it's also outfitted with headlights, foglights, a third brakelight and additional side turn signals.

Two things:

First: The driver may magically perform a quick dress change before leaving the car. Since the 2002 Tunderbird was oficially featured in the James Bond movie 'Die Another Day', we can only assume that there lies a possible answer to the driver's behaviour.

Second: You also may be so kind and turn off the weather ingame if you don't want your Thunderbird NPCs to get wet inside their open convertibles. :P

Hope you enjoy and plz leave a like if you like! ;)

I am a modeller, too. Worked in the gaming industry for many years. The only thing I would bake are occlusion and normal maps. I arrange the UVs and paint my color textures mostly by hand.

Why should a BMW i8 roadster be too advanced in geometry? It looks like a pretty car to make. BTW, you're already the second person to ask me to do a BMW, haha. I usually don't like BMWs. :D

As I said I am pretty new to the game and can't decide what to do next. There's literally anything that you can model for tihs game, from a trashcan to a skyscaper. That is so amazing about this game. ^^

I'm actually a modeler myself, so I can fully understand. I would make assets for CS, but I just never figured out the texturing half of it. I can whip up some mean materials in Blender though, but baking them into a texture just doesn't look right.
But I'm working 7 days a week, so I don't really have the time anyway.
But as for your work, I'm glad you've got it all figured out and I hope you go far! I would love to see a sub-meshed BMW i8 Roadster, but I understand if the geometry is too advanced right now.

Thank you very much for your feedback, Koenigsegg! Much appreciated. Well, I was wondering, too why I could not find any other convertibles on the workshop. Am I missing them, or aren't there any at all besides some closed top versions?

Regarding the poly count: this is my first CS asset that I have built so far (the Thunderbird version with the hard top). So I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out in the game and how many polys I would have to use in total. I tried to stay in the 1200 tri count as I have seen a lot of other cars have those values.

Now that I know that there are cars (even from top builders) that go way over 3000 tris I am pretty confident that I will build my future cars with more details on the fenders. ;)

And yes, I am also looking forward to build another (maybe the 1955 T.-Bird) or more convertibles.

Thanks again for the encouraging words, I am glad you like my work. Cheerz! :)

This sub-mesh convertible idea is incredible! Truly another breakthrough for the game! I really do hope you will make more convertible cars, but I implore you to make any type you wish! I understand your minimalist clean geometry approach to your modelling, but I do wish you would increase the tri-count of the fender archs and the wheel-wells possibly by a factor of two to smooth them out :)
