Overall, had a great time with the series. Combat is challenging and compelling, and as other people already mentioned the world and story feel realistic. I liked that a lot of the combat was very different and refreshing from the type of combat in the official campaigns.
My main criticism is that while a lot of combat was challenging, it occasionally felt a tad unfair. There were several points throughout the series where I could see a battle coming a mile away, but without enemies in sight. Then a scripted event where I have to walk into the area and a lot of enemies jump out so I'm suddenly in a bad spot and unable to get the drop on the enemies.
It's nice if such vigilance is rewarded by letting you actually ambush enemies or position yourself strategically for combat.
At the same time, these things make the game challenging and in that sense it does add. So if you're looking for a good combat challenge, play this campaign.
You have to explore carefully to get all the story... and to reach that sweet level 4 in the end.
