Endurance Range Extender w. Atlas (Survival Ready - Only 1 Mod)

描述
*Links to attachment modules at bottom of description*

This was supposed to be a simple remake of a ship I did years ago after returning to SE... And I... Just... Never... Stopped... Building... It...

This Module Includes:
1 X Endurance Range Extender
2 X Atlas Lander
2 X Razer Scout ATV

Ready to be docked with up to 2 Pegasus Shuttle MK.V "Valkyrie"

Endurance Range Extender

Controls:

Endurance:
P1- Gravity Rotation, Docking Pistons & Atlas Connectors
P2- Main Thrusters, Jump Drive & Lights
P3- Antennas, Power & Atlas Emergency Jettison
P4- Booster & Pegasus Thrusters & Booster Module Jettison

This was only *slightly* inspired by the Endurance from the movie Interstellar... This whole build kind of happened by accident, somewhere along the line of building the Atlas, I went off the deep end, and conceived the idea of a FTL range extender/mother ship that would allow the Pegasus to venture into interstellar exploration. The design started off with the Atlas as a focal point, and was intended to be the main thruster nacelles, but this quickly changed as the ring design took shape. This design is a concept for future long range space craft that could generate their own gravity by rotation. I had a lot of fun playing with gravity during this design, it flows quite nicely and has a very unique interior design.

The central body is a simple tear drop shape with a large greenhouse, and 2 observation bubbles on each side. The rear is where the reactor and jump drive are located, featuring a spinning design with glowing and flashing lights and even visible arching around the core when viewed from the windows. The cockpit area features two decks in opposite gravity fields, below each deck is a airlock to access the outer ring There are 2 ladder accesses, and 1 passage way for zero G use, all of them featuring stunning views. These feed to the main nacelles and are on pistons to extend and retract on the Atlas Landers that mount inbetween. The main nacelles are massive, featuring solar panels, oxygen farms, massive intakes, and powered by a suite of ion thrusters, as this is not intended to be used in any kind of gravity field. With both Pegasus & Launch Boosters attached it can barely escape a 1 G planet. This was intentional, as it gives the whole design a sense of scale as it rises ever slightly higher against the horizon. Interior of the nacelles houses an upper airlock to access the fight deck, several levels of engineering and maintenance, as well as full crew quarters with medical, and mess halls at the perimeter to the rest of the ring. The rest of the ring extends on both sides as a simple passage way to the Atlas Landers that are separated by airlocks. The outside features maneuvering thrusters that are oriented in a way that if overriden while using the Realistic Thrusters mod, the ring would rotate, creating a centrifugal force providing a sense of gravity to the occupants.

The Endurance is fully survival ready, it's possible to operate it with a 1 man crew, and has room for atleast 6 crew mates, and many more if you use the Atlas Lander, and Pegasus. Being a ship with two halves on pistons acting on a another ship in the middle, it can have some drift. If you select the "Gravity Gyros" and make the override zero with the "Override Controls" selected it will be much more stable, but I intended this to rotate constantly, so I set it up for rotation. It also is equipped with a Remote Control Block, so you can access the docking piston controls from the safety of your Pegasus Shuttle before attempting to dock. Lastly when paired with all of the modules like 2 Pegasus, with Booster Modules, 2 Atlas Landers, Razor ATV's & UTV's, it tanks sim-speed pretty hard unless you have a beast of a PC, so be warned. I will have a version with EVERYTHING attached, its not really practical, it lags my PC like crazy, but it does look super cool especially during take off!

AT-LS "Atlas" Lander

Controls:
Atlas Lander:
P1- Landing Thrusters, Flight Controls, & Docking Connectors
P2- Power, Lights, Endurance Connectors & Emergency Jettison

Razer Scout ATV:
P1- Power, Lights, Tailgate, UI, Connector
P2- Park Brake & Driving Controls
P3- Thrusters, Gyro, Camera, Antenna & Ore Detector
P4- Re-Attach Wheels

The basic hull shape is rather boat like, the idea being if buoyancy was calculated in SE it would float. It has deployable landing legs that streamline seamlessly into the hull, the legs themselves are pistons to act as shock absorbers for rough landings. On top of the inside of the legs is a full set of landing thrusters to slow the craft down for a safe landing. The lower hull features a cargo ramp on the left hand side of the lander, and flush mounted manuevering thrusters are spaced at the corners. The roof houses solar panels, the docking connector, drag parachutes, and a set of jettison thrusters in the case of emergencies aboard the Endurance. Main level features a central cryo bay with individual crew quarters on the perimeter, and in addition to a small lab, basic medical bay, mess hall, and flight deck. Lower levels are feature simple production & engineering with a vehicle bay housing a Razer Scout ATV. Like it's newer sibling, this ATV is fast and nimble, with a robust open design, and spare tire. However the Scout only has 1 crew, and very basic thruster capabilities.

The lander is fully survival ready, it's made for 1 to 6 crew. This was designed to be more restrictive, and less capable than a fully stocked Pegasus, but less resource intensive to produce out of thanks to its small solar array. The lander is also very stable despite the moving parts and does not require the Daily Needs mod as the Pegasus did, but I utilised the Desk Console's mod more by taking advantage of the programmable block function. So if you do skip the mod, you'll want to place a programmable dock to run the auto-door script.

These are designed to be used with DraygoKorvan Aerodynamic Physics (Lift, Drag & Re-Entry):

The thrust moment is pretty balanced and works very with with Digi's Realistic Thrusters - Offset forces for thrusters:

Hmmm... not sure, the Endurance is designed with pistons to extend and retract to dock with the Atlas, I'm planning an update utilising some of the new DLC blocks, so I'll take a look at this when I have a chance.

I really enjoy the build, it is very cool! However, I pasted it in creative just to take a look and for some reason it has no dampeners and the Atlas units won't detach without ripping the whole ship apart. I tried spawning the Endurance and Atlas in separately but the Atlas blueprint doesn't seem to be wide enough to fit the endurance blueprint
