MKII is out!! MKII is fully self-sufficient, adding a generator and crane for hoisting the ROV!
ROV w/ Self-Sufficient Container MKII

Ever wanted an easy way to add ROV capabilities to a vessel? This cargo container is mostly self-sufficient, with an ROV, winch and control centre! It can easily be transported and added to a vessel. The vessel should only provide power and have a crane to lift the ROV!

BACKGROUND
Developed by (fictional) Swedish manufacturer, SAAP, the C-FI (Sea-FI) tethered ROV was a product of years of SAAP's R&D. A small team working closely with OMUA (Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency), a (fictional) multinational marine and research agency, to develop the C-FI, and fit it into a standard ISO cargo container, complete with equipment, controls and a huge winch. Powered by the tethered connection from the huge winch, the C-FI can explore the depths, retrieve treasures and capture video of lost ship wrecks. CONTAINER (CONTROL CENTRE + WINCH + ROV) SPECIFICATIONS
  • Size: Standard ISO (2.75m x 2.75m x 7.25m)
  • Mass: 2000 lbs
  • Cost: $ 29,000
  • Internal Power: Small battery
  • External Power: Electric Connector + Cable Anchor (To mothership)

CONTAINER FEATURES

ROV SPECIFICATIONS
  • Length: 2.5m / 8'
  • Power: Tethered connection
  • Drivetrain: 2 x small propellers
  • Mass: 310 lbs

ROV FEATURES
  • 2 x mag-alls
  • Controllable camera
  • Depth and distance to surface sensors
  • Horizontal and vertical propellers
  • Tilt display using artificial horizon

INSTRUCTIONS
Turn on the start key in the control centre. The instructions are listed on the seat hotkeys.

TIPS
  • Turn off the breaker to prevent battery from draining when not in use
  • To retrieve the ROV using a crane, it will require some playing, including exploiting the glitch of the cable going through the container structure.
  • The ROV is sensitive but with some practice can be used for treasure recovery
  • The ROV is intentionally negatively buoyant, and will slowly sink to the bottom

Ttruth to be told, i dont actually Play with this in missions, just had the itch to create a variant
to be used with the MRR5, and the old design needed a few tweaks to do so.

You are welcome to copy/paste my modified version as your own, i think other people would liked to have this variant design, but i am bad at the whole word-makeup within the description.

If you havent already, you should checkout the Mrr5 for yourself along with one of its modules

Thanks for the consideration! I understand what you meant originally but thought with the container ROV facing outward, the crane can still operate and extend outwards from the helicopter for deployment - however if that is not possible I will make a drop straight down version for you. Does the door have to face the front or back of the helicopter for it to be used in flight, or should the cabin area be open?

Not gonna post this as the first comment on your next creation, but that hasnt what i had i mind.

While it can be used to extend it outside of a ship's deck, what i meant before was the ability to directly drop down, and a centred door which corrosponds to the MRR5 Grisner

If you like you can check out a version i made couple days ago, its unlisted

@Pretender6 Today's your lucky day, I have been developing the MKII version of the container ROV which is fully self sufficient and, which should server your purpose ;) it doesn't come out of the bottom but has a crane that brings it out
