PHOTON Anti-Ballstic Disruptor Tank

PHOTON is a state-of-the-art anti-ballistic disruption tank. It is designed to intercept incoming missiles, projectiles or drones and destroy them using a combination of directed energy weapons (Nd:YAG Fibre Laser) and radio communication jamming. PHOTON is a hybrid defensive vehicle designed to form a safe centre of operations in regions of conflict: for protection of civilians, extraction of personnel and equipment, and defense of military assets.



PHOTON is powered by a diesel-electric 4-cylinder medium modular engine, driving four independent-suspension tracks, with a top speed of 85kph. Stop-start technology and auto-charging provide a long range and support isolated operations. The engines run at an auto-scaling 0 to 720 RPM and maintain safe operating temperatures at all times. Total fuel capacity is 1500L, giving approximately 50km range.


PHOTON is equipped with a 5-band Nd:YAG Fibre Laser, capable of directly destroying small missiles and projectiles, as well as blinding or disorientating larger vehicles and ballistics. (These are actually distance sensors, and can be used in Stormworks to misdirect laser-guided missiles).

PHOTON can carry up to 8 seated passengers and substantial amounts of cargo loaded via the rear tailgate. It is also equipped with a medical bed and first aid equipment for in-field emergency care. PHOTON can also be deployed as a monitoring base, turning off its glamorous warning lighting and using its RADAR for stealthy surveillance.


PHOTON is equipped with a 16-channel radio scanner and jammer. It uses 8 channels for scanning, searching approximately 100 channels per second. Once a significant signal is detected it will jam the frequency. 8 channels are used for simultaneous jamming. This can effectively disorient and destroy any radio-guided ballistics, drones or other vehicles in Stormworks.

• The neon highlighting fades in and out by cyclically turning on/off a generator which provides their electricity, this causes them to brighten and dim, and creates the cool effect when firing.
  
• The modular engines actually make very good generators for diesel-electric drive. The coolant tanks for the engine have a finely tuned amount of water in them, which maximises the flow rate of the coolant pumps and gives the strongest cooling. Two 5x5 electric radiators will keep 4 cylinders operating safely at 10 RPS (about 88 degrees at peak load).
