SS St Lawrence (2)

描述
--THIS NEEDS INFINITE ELECTRIC TO WORK--

Story:
In 1896, plans were drawn up for two cattle steamships to work alongside with the SS Nomadic, Tauric and Pavia. These two steamships would be named SS "St Lawrence", the second ship for the company with that name, and the SS "St John". In December of 1898, the SS St Lawrence 2 departed on her maiden voyage. This voyage was uneventful, aside from losing a propeller blade on the 8th day of the 10 day crossing. The SS St John collided with New Jersey piers on her maiden voyage, causing some paint to be worn off. In 1904, due to more immigration, a refit was given to both ships. Instead of only being able to carry 45 3rd cabin passengers, an extra deck house was added on the stern. This meant both ships could carry less cattle, though they could carry more passengers. This refit also meant their 6,500GRT increased to 6,800GRT. August 17th, 1914, the SS St Lawrence was carrying cattle and around 124 immigrants to Great Britain, when suddenly an explosion occurred. The SS St Lawrence had struck a sea mine, and she was going to survive the initial mine damage, though bad luck was on their side. The mine blasted in her boiler room, next to the bulkhead. As a result of this, the engine room started to flood until the watertight door was closed. By this point, it was too late and she was settling lower and lower by the hour. 2 hours after the mine impact, all power was lost, leaving her stranded in the Irish sea. Her flares lit up the night sky, and her cries for help were heard. The SS Ottawa rushed to the scene, and thankfully all humans were saved. After 7 hours, her bow rose into the air, before slipping under. Sadly, all 270 sheep, 321 horses and 132 cows were lost in the sinking. However, the SS St John survived the war, and remained in service for the company. In 1929, the Great Depression hit, and so the SS St John was laid up. She remained there idle for almost 4 years, when a large bang was heard coming from the worn out ship.
As she was getting ready to sail to the breakers, sadly one of her boilers exploded. This explosion resulted in the death of 2 workers, and the severe burns of 4 more. After a long life, the SS St John was towed to the scrap yard in 1933.

@Mr. Garfield Man I would but I can't upload missions/update missions without Liam Sharpe uploading them for me, and he is currently busy, but some older River Liners will sport sails unfolded :)

@Mr. Garfield Man Interesting alternate timeline, though her official story says she struck a mine in 1914 and the SS Ottawa of the Greyhound Line saved her crew :)
