An extensive overhaul mod for Imrik and his dragons that I have been working on for a while. Uses Macho Chunko's dragon legion models for the dragon princes and dragon riders with his permission, thank you! Check out his mod -

Now for the feature list of this mod, split into faction and unit changes


Knight's of Caledor faction changes -

1. Sun, Moon and Star dragons now have dragon riders using Macho Chunko's amazing dragon prince models. Forest and black dragons do not have riders to represent their more feral nature (having wood elf or dark elf riders in Imrik's faction wouldn't make much sense).

2. Previously when defeating the legendary dragon encounters, you would be rewarded with a shrunken less powerful version to recruit, which I thought was a massive let down. However, this mod changes the script to allow you to recruit the original full size dragon with all their unique stats and abilities!

3. The HE dragon recruitment building tier 1 now unlocks the recruitment of dragon princes, so you can get them earlier, while tier 2 now allows the additional recruitment of black and forest dragons! If Imrik can recruit legendary black and forest dragons, there is no reason why he can't recruit the standard versions as well.

4. In addition to the exotic animal tamer building, which Imrik can barely access in his campaign, the gold and gem buildings now provide similar upkeep reductions to dragon units. Conquer those dwarven holds and let your dragons get their treasure hoards going!

5. The jungle climate has now been made suitable for Imrik, while the wasteland has been made unsuitable (but not uninhabitable). If Teclis and Eltharion can cope fine, so can Imrik.

6. New stance added for Imrik - 'Follow the Dragons - Dragons flying high above will guide your army down hidden paths'. Works similarly to Alith Anar's stance/underway and will allow Imrik to better compete with Greenskins etc when establishing his empire of mountains and volcanoes.

Dragon unit changes -

All 5 dragon types now have completely overhauled entity and combat stats, in addition to new abilities. Dragon breaths have also been changed. The changes are too many to list fully here, but there is an emphasis on both increasing their power level with corresponding recruitment/upkeep increases, as well as diversifying all 5 types so that they now have different roles/strengths/weaknesses, while maintaining their differences in maturity. There should now hopefully be some reasons to recruit all dragon types to your army, rather than simply spamming star dragons. See the attached pics for an idea of some of the changes, or just check them out in custom battle! More info below -

1. Flying speed significantly increased across the board. No more slowmo dragons getting used for target practice.

2. Similar to vanilla, sun dragons have lowest overall stats, followed by moon/forest/black dragons who are roughly evenly matched, followed by star dragons.

3. Damage resistance profiles diversified (actually inspired by CAs own work with the legendary dragons that was never transferred to the recruitable versions). All dragons apart from Star dragons have 20% ward save as baseline, while Star dragons have 30% ward save. Sun dragons have additional fire resistance. Moon dragons have additional missile resistance. Black dragons have additional magic resistance. Forest dragons have additional physical/magic resistance but decreased fire resistance. Star dragons have no additional resistance but have a higher baseline ward save. These changes should give you an opportunity to diversify the use of your dragons. For example, you would use Moon dragons against dark elf shades while Black dragons would be effective against sisters of avelorn.

4. Sun and moon dragon attacks inflict fire damage and the flammable effect - reducing fire resistance. Star dragon attacks inflict magic damage and the dampening effect - reducing magic resistance. Forest dragon attacks inflict the poison effect. Black dragon attacks inflict the sundering effect (reducing armor).

5. Sun dragon breath is pure fire damage, while Moon and Star dragon breath is mixed fire and magic damage. Forest and Black dragon breath inflicts poison. Sun dragons have more use of their breath attacks than other dragons, so are great against non-elite infantry. Star dragon breaths have less uses and should be saved for elite units.

6. All dragons now have the new 'dragonscale' passive ability, which provides additional 20% missile resistance while in melee (removed when out of melee). It should be hard to shoot a dragon's vulnerable underbelly when it is on the ground! Will help stop dragons getting mowed down Ramsay Bolton style by enemy missile troops who don't care about about shooting their own infantry. If you want to kill a dragon while it's in melee, then send in elite anti-large or heroes.


That's about it for the major changes.

This mod is intended to be used when playing as Imrik, if you are playing another faction you should probably disable it. It was created with fun and roleplaying Imrik's faction in mind, rather than strict campaign balance (although I don't feel that it breaks things too much). The vanilla warhammer 2 campaign can hardly be considered even remotely balanced in any case even without this mod. Dragons are still vulnerable to focused fire from elite ranged units when airborne or to elite anti-large infantry/heroes/lords when in melee. They are just more fun to use now!

Hope you guys enjoy, let me know if any issues. Regarding compatibility, don't use it with other mods that change dragons or Imrik's faction.

Regular dragons work, but special dragons don't work

Not all functions are disabled. It's just that they are still the normal dragons that can be recruited after being defeated.
