I remember this class way back when! So glad I found a nice looking remake. Thank you for this, Rehtaelle! Can't wait to sing some Drunken Shanties with him again.

I wouldn't call immediate negative feedback with little in the way of constructive criticism to be an example of "civility".

If you made me a meal and I said "this food sucks", would you call that civil? Would you call it behavior worthy of respect? Even if you said "I did my best to season it nicely" and I then replied with "It's still garbage, my grandma cooks better than this", do you count that as civil?

Well now I definitely don't wanna use him when you're being condescending to someone having a civil conversation

If you don't want to use him, that's fine. Obviously there are more powerful options out there because there's no upward limit to how imbalanced someone can make a class mod. I base my choices on the base game roster, and as it stands, he fills in the need for support classes as well as classes with good enemy team coverage.

Promoting four specific abilities doesn't mean I recommend using them in conjunction. I can see how you might have come to that conclusion since I didn't go to the lengths of spelling everything out for you and assuming you could properly put together the pieces on your own.

And yes, cutting dodge is counter-productive to recovering health and stress. That's the penalty for one ability that covers both health and stress, and in terms of healing, good players generally know that you should focus on healing when the enemy team is less of a threat. Plus, it encourages use with low-dodge classes such as Lep, Crus, and Flage, all of which are supported nicely by his kit. He benefits from Flage's bleed resist debuffs, and shanty greatly helps Inspiring Cry and Solemnity.

In your example of taking a Pos 3 Bounty Hunter, yes, you're right. He can do those things. However he cannot heal, stress heal, buff ally healing/ stress healing, nor does he let you take home a little extra gold.

So let's say Im running the 4 skills you seem most keen on: BPP, Avast, Shanty and Ration. Im already unable to use Avast and Shanty in the same positions and I'm reducing the survivability of Dodge-based classes when I heal them. Sure I can support other better healers, and enable other better damage classes to attack enemies position 4 by moving the p3 enemy back with BPP, but it hardly seems worth a class slot over supports who do more than just those 2 things. P3 Bounty can mark, pull, stun, bleed, deal more damage, and debuff enemy speed

I'd contest that being able to both heal and stress heal in a singular ability, being able to bolster healing and stress healing received for the entire party for the course of a battle, and an attack which can hit any enemy from any position (with diminishing returns) is a fairly useful kit. To my immediate recollection, no primary damage attack can hit any position from any position. Puncture doesn't do enough damage for me to consider it a primary attack though, it's more of a utility skill.

As a supplementary healer, Shanty is a not-insignificant increase to the output of others.

His bleed attack may not be the most powerful on the block, but it does have generous reach to it, being able to hit the 3rd enemy rank unlike many core attacks such has Smite, Wicked Hack, Chop, Hew, Collect Bounty, Wicked Slice, Open Vein, Punish, Incision, and Pick to the Face.

It's not versatile to be *bad* at everything though
