2) Bounty NPCs are not dying.
This is common error at Starbound, if the enemy dies by other damage without gun, as 'flamethrower', they don't die at hp 0, but keep attacking the player like undead. So, the problem may caused from that enemy died from Kenopsea weapon's 'Burning Damage'. It's common starbound glitch, so it's not the own issue comes from this mod. If the mod creator does not change the weapon's whole characteristic, it's the problem that can't be solved as 'flamethrower' does.
I'll explain my guess at your question by testing at my starbound without FU.
1) Assume you are fall into a lava, or burned by fire at volcano planet. All Kenopsea guns are seems to be shooting burning textile, similar to dummy data gun at 'Omen Race''s omenhellfire revolver, or Saiyain race's some guns. If you shoot at wall once for one time, you get some burned damage like you hit once by burn damage without duration. But, if you smash the wall with attacks at the door, and dive at it, you got hit by multiple fast, burning damage, that leads to your death as you fall at the lava but faster hit. In summary, you may dying from shooting the wall with many attacks and getting fast, stacked burning damage. So, I don't think it's an error, but the weapon's characteristic.
