This is an Sub MOD of Japanese Culture & Shinto MOD and adds characters of Japanese culture with event troops in Bengal region. If you own DLC "Rajas of India", you can also start the game as these Japanese characters. Some characters are historical figures.

Abe no Nakamaro (698-770) was a Japanese bureaucrat and also known as Chao Heng in Chinese name. In 717-718, he was a member of the Japanese mission to China (Kentoshi). In China, he served Tang-dynasty China as a bureaucrat, and finaly rose to the position of the Protectorate General of the Annan Protectorate.

Minamoto no Yoshitsune (1159-1189?) was a military commander of the Minamoto clan of Japan. As a brother of Yoritomo (the First Shogun of Kamakura), he led a series of battles which toppled the Taira clan (the Genpei War). As Yoritomo became suspicious of him, Yoshitsune fled and died in Mutsu province. However, it is also said that he had survived and successfully escaped abroad.

Of course, playable Japanese characters are available in other ages (but they are fictional).
