Japanese Culture & Shinto MOD

NOTICE
In the update of Feb 19, 2023, I added holy sites of Shinto, but that made it difficult to coexist with mods that change the map significantly. I developed simplified version that doesn't have a setting of Shinto holy sites, so I'd like you to try this as well.



Japanese Culture & Shinto MOD (JPC mod) adds Japanese culture, Shinto religion and so on in the CK2 game.

New Culture : Japanese
Has the cultural building "Ashigaru Longhouse" and the retinue "Samurai".

New Religion : Shinto
Increases Martial +2. Be included in the Eastern religion group. Has no holy order (there was no existence similar to "Holy Order in CK2" in the history of Shinto), but can hire Sohei monks as a mercenary.

New Mercenaries : Ronin Company, Wokou Ships, and Sohei Monks
Ronin Company and Wokou Ships are employable only if either your character or your vassal is Japanese.

New Traits : Ninja, Swordmaster

And some new decisions, new features and so on...

This mod simply adds Japanese culture and Shinto religion, and does not change any vanilla file in order to avoid interference with other MODs . If you have " Ruler Designer ", this MOD enables you to start the CK2 game as a character of Japanese culture and Shinto religion. Even if you are a character of another culture or religion, you can use the decision to invite a ronin and a ninja when owning one of provinces below.
- Ejin (Southeast end of Mongolia)
- Jiuquan (East end of Xia)
- Karmanta (East end of Bengal)
- Samatata (Southeast end of Bengal)

Shinto is inclueded in the Eastern religion group. So, "Rajas of India" is required to play as a Shinto character created in Ruler Designer.
Of course, this does not prevent you from creating a Japanese character in Ruler Designer. (Even without Rajas of India, It is possible to play as Catholic Japanese.)

For players who own DLC " Jade Dragon " and " Persian Portraits ", I created a portrait Sub MOD for Japanese culture. When without this Sub MOD, portraits of chinese, mongolian, or indian will be used for Japanese.

For players who want to play as a Japanese warlord or who want to fight against Japanese antagonists, I also created a Sub Mod which adds Japanese title holders in Bengal region (some of them are historical figures).
