描述
Gonna Catcha v.1.2.1
Soul-harvesting Action. No Quarters Necessary.

Assume the role of Pohena Das and Donum Dono, two canine members of the Psychopomp Envoys. Under the orders of Yama, ruler of the Underworld, their duty is to collect and deliver the spirits of the dead to the Underworld for judgement. Their task is not an easy one, as spirits are generally not very cooperative in this endeavour. To make things worse, base creatures known as pretas (or "Hungry ghosts") have a habit of getting in the way. Inspired by classic arcade games from the early 80s, Gonna Catcha delivers classic gameplay straight from the old arcades.

Play alone, alternating between the roles of Pohena and Donum, or team up with a friends and work together to capture those spirits.

Notes:

If you opted in to any betas or rolled back to a previous of GameMaker: Studio, the game may not work properly. The game is designed to run on the current stable version (1.3.1334).

The game's online manual can be accessed from the Service Mode menu, which is accessed by pressing "O" (default) at the title screen.

This is pretty fun! I didn't hit any snags, really, and never felt like failure wasn't due to my own crap decision making. The gameply feels right at home with the old-school presentation; this feels like an old arcade game, and that's no complaint.

I'm glad that you're enjoying the game. :)

The game isn't based an older game, but it was inspired by several arcade or arcade-style games from the 80s. The techincal aspects of the game were mainly based on Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man. Other games I was influenced by were Mario Bros., (New) Rally-X, Bomberman and Battle City.

The stun-capture-return mechanic was inspired from a platformer called Out to Lunch (which was actually from the 90s), but in my research I found out there was a maze game by Sega from 1980 called Tranquilizer Gun which did it before.

This game is addicting! Did you come up with this idea yourself or is it based off of an older game?
I am having lots of fun and the music is so good!

It seems as though the the last build was bad. Somehow GM:S "lost" some of the included files for my game. The problem should be fixed now. Hopefully, all the problems have been sorted. Sorry for all the trouble.

I got that exact same error when just after I updated the game. I think it's because on of the game's files wasn't downloaded and updated correctly by Steam. Unsubscribing and resubscribing the game seemed to have fixed it for me.

Hi there. Sorry, I accidentally uploaded a version with code that is only compatible with the 1.3 beta. I rolled the code back so that it works with 1.2, so it shouldn't give that error anymore.
