since i am crazy about swords in Starbound, let me share my own set of them based on the sword collection of Finn the Human from Adventure Time series which i enjoyed watching years ago! if there are some more Adventure Time fans in this community, this is a shout out to you all because this mod is definetely for you.

the recipe list includes:
- the classic Golden sword
- the root sword
- the demon blood sword, my favourite one
- the grass sword
- the Finn sword
- Night Sword
- Fionna's crystal sword

instruction:
- go to Treasured Trophies to buy the Land of Ooo Forge for 2010 pixels and one old human TV;
- place the forge wherever you want and enjoy forging :)

be careful - some swords are basically upgraded versions of weaker swords, similarly to Peacekeepers' Neo Magnum guns. you need to craft a weaker sword to open the access to crafting a more powerful one.

they are upgraded closely to how the main AT storyline progresses, meaning this:
1) default, with no earlier swords needed to be crafted: Scarlet the Golden Sword
2) Scarlet the Golden sword --> Root sword
3) Root Sword --> Demon Blood Sword
4) Demon Blood Sword --> Grass Sword
5) Grass Sword --> The Finn Sword
6) The Finn Sword --> Night sword
+ Fionna's Crystal Sword is an alternative upgrade for Demon Blood Sword.

Racial descriptions of the forge are also included (get ready to laugh at the human one...).

UPD 10 nov 2020: ver 1.1, minor updates of the forge itself. the forge is now shiny and the user interface has a cute logo with Finn's face :)
UPD2 11 nov 2020: Night Sword added + abilities of the other swords are slightly modified + the infoboxes now show the descriptions, not the numbers.

In response to your previous statement the author of Marceline's Axe Mod, they updated their mod to include a weapon version of it. But no version that's both a weapon And an instrument.

it IS possible to add the alt abilities of a different weapon, for example i made Broadswords with alt abilities of Spears, but it was quite easy since they both are melee weapons and work similarly in many ways. whereas the Axe and the musical instruments are absolutely different active items... i haven't been into the modding lately, should get back to it one day and do some experiments

Maybe. It might be possible to invoke the instrument scripts as an alt-fire, though weapons and what they can do are out of my modding skillset so I can't say for certain.

i have seen other modder creating Marceline's axe : but as a bass guitar, not a weapon.
i wonder if it is possible to mod an item that could work both as a musical instrument AND a weapon
