DEI - Stronger Rome

描述
THIS MOD REQUIRES Divide Et Impera parts 1,2 and 3!!

Introduction & Contents
Ever disappointed by how Rome is still throwing stacks of Polybian tier units in the late game? Ever thought even Marian legionnaries were too easy to deal with? Ever thought Rome, despite their existing buffs, just don't seem to expand fast enough? Then this mod is for you. This mod buffs Rome in several ways, mainly to make them a more challenging end-game threat in the hands of the AI. If you wish, you absolutely can play Rome yourself with this mod activated like a filthy casual... I swear I didn't do it..

The buffs are as follows:
  • Rome as a region, specifically, gives 10% bonus morale against (other) Romans, increases campaign movement range by 25%, increases the stamina of all units, and adds 50% bonus razing/looting income.
  • Post-Marian Roman legionnary-type units now have fatigue resistance that makes them last even longer in combat.
  • The Roman fortification and garrison stance now has 3 barricades and stakes. The fortification stance additionally gets a small replenishment bonus and an upkeep reduction bonus.
  • The Gladius now has 6~8 armor piercing instead of 3~4, nearly as strong as axes and comparable to sicas.
  • Roman scutums now have a block chance of 75% rather than 70%, which totals 90% when using testudo.
  • Romans can now form vassals(satrapies) like the Eastern factions.

Note that non-Roman units using the Gladius get this change as well. (For example, some early Ligurian and Veneti, or Italian rebel troops and Etruscan garrison swordsmen.) I strongly recommend you to play with the new "More Romans" mod to further complicate your struggle for survival against the Romans.

Installation & Compatibility
  • To install, first subscribe to this mod, and place this mod above the 3 DEI parts in the mod launcher.
  • If you have other submods for DEI which you want to play with, simply place this mod over them as well to make sure the changes within this mod override them all. If you want to play this mod with my other submods, also place this mod on top of them.
  • This mod is save game compatible, and will likely be compatible with all future versions of DEI. I will update this mod should the combat system of vanilla DEI be overhauled once more.
  • Although this mod will be multiplayer compatible, multiplayer in R2 is often a very buggy process that I will not be able help much should it become an issue. All I can say regarding this is make sure both parties have the identical setup and mod load order when attempting multiplayer.

Credits
All of the texts and entries used in making this submod are not my original work, and are credited to the DEI team.
I have merely rearranged & edited existing content from DEI and the R2 native files to create this submod.
Seriously, go make a donation for DEI or something. The project deserves it.

The load order doesn't really matter, but I would but stronger rome up top.you can also just play with my all in one mod that combines other roman submods into one

Thanks fr reply :)

I have another question: Which of your mods "DEI - Stronger Rome" and "DEI - More Romans" should be placed the highest in load order? For both mods your instruct that "If you want to play this mod with my other submods, also place this mod on top of them.". But obviously only one of them can be placed top?

@DoktorFar

With the exception of the morale boost against other Roman factions which help during civil wars, every other trait helps the AI substantially during auto resolves and also gives them a lot of money because the AI loots often. This will in effect allow Rome to win the punic war faster and field twice as many stacks.

The buffs apply to Rome even if it is played by the AI. This way this mod can make Rome harder to fight against. In fact it makes it really hard.
Another one bites the dust 10 月 24 日 上午 5:54
the buffs are for players how would any of those help AI?
DoktorFar 8 月 23 日 上午 4:56
The listed changes doesn't sound very useful in the hands of the AI, what am I missing here?

Strange. This mod doesn't edit unit skins at all.

Might not care about this mod anymore but for whatever reason this mod interferes with unit reskins

Great mod. Just one question, Cohors Evocata have Melee AP only 4, because they are using vetgladius1 sword, which was not edited, like other gladius swords. Was it intentional?
