An innovative design has been put forward for use on fishing vessels in Australia.

Leading Australian boat designer Paul Bury has published concept drawings for a 23.25 meter fishing boat that can be configured to work effectively with different types of fishing equipment. The design would be the largest Australian work vessel under a measured length of 24.00 meters.

The vessel's design has an 'inverted ax' bow for long waterline length. This provides better seakeeping and reduced speed pitching and lower resistance, resulting in fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.
