Villagers Trust Players

Inspired by Lazy Guards by Reika (Which as of right now is broken, as it has not been updated in a few years.)

Starbound mod that makes villager NPCs not care if you break their stuff. Why? I dunno. Maybe they think if you're a protectorate that you probably need that item for something important, or maybe you just have Stealth 100 and they don't notice you just broke their door.

I made this because I saw a critter fall in a pond, and wanted to make a way for it to crawl out, and got shot at for "stealing" dirt.

Patches out accuse and attackThief from behaviors/npc/villager.behavior, and villagerguard.behavior.

Adding my voice to express interest in seeing this one updated. Could people have permission to work on this mod? It is madness that the vanilla game doesn't let you clean up sand or pick up an item you've placed without being accused of wrongdoing.

I have a mod that places microbiomes with NPCs here and there, so I found a couple dudes in a very basic campsite without even a fire for warmth. I started moving stuff around so a fire and seating could fit nicely between their tents. The blokes wound up screaming for nonexistent guards to deal with 'this horrible thief'. I feel like if you put the item back, it should reset the NPC's attitude. Ugh. 😆 And I left these ungrateful jerks with such a nice little camp.

just tried it out and it's fubar, villager turned hostile upon removal of objects. not functional at this time

so is this mod working as intended, or will i have to class this as necro? im sick of trying to help villagers defend themselves only to be called a thief and attacked causing any missions i have with them to fail instantly

mod does not work anymore. just installed it and tried removing a box from an avian airship, was warned of thievery. unless i'm mistaken and this mod doesn't remove the accusations, only the aggression afterwards.
