My favorite project - The Capital industrial/Factory ship.

This save has been updated and reworked every time there is a new functionallity that is added to the game. It has come a long way since its original construction. Its been tweaked and retweaked to better accomodate the vision i had for it as a ship that moves through space, infront of a colony ship as such - building structures and bases along the way.

It comes with the following ships:

2x Ore Haulers
- Large transports which will move between the astroid being mined, and the factory ship, depositing its cargo within the larger cargospace of the factory ship.

8x Utility Drones
- Small drones, able to weld, grind and mine its way through new construction projects.

4x Mining ships
- Small ships, main astroid mining force.

6x Patrol Drones
- Small ships, main security force of the ship.


Functions Factory Ship:

As the name indicates, able to draw in wast amounts of ore, process it and produce whatever you need of components to build whatever you want, together with your friends controlling the swarm of different utility drones.

Functions Mining ships:

Quite simple, you mine. Either close range to capital ship, or together with one or both of the Ore Hauler ships for long range mining OPs.

Functions Ore Hauler ship:

To work as a sattelite ore deposite location for mining OPs bit further away from the main capital ship. Fill up one of these and ferry it back to the main ship, while the mining force keeps on working.

Functions Drones:

To be the main workforce of the capital ship, operating within its antenna range - doing anything from welding, grinding, mining and patrolling.

The thought behind the build, in a survival scenario - is that this ship is sendt out slightly ahead of a colony fleet, to spearhead the efforts of build structures/bases/factories, making an functioning habitat before the colonists arrive. That it it could just be a factory ship, roaming the stars on a mission to build assorted outposts, all from mining to military. The ship will need a sizable crew to function optimally in a survival scenario.

Original build was from before pressurisation, but - at some point, i'll get around to upgrading also this into the build. However, its a big job - as the original build did not take such things into consideration when designing it.

Feel free to use it however - although, if for any Youtube series or anything, credits would be appreciated ;)

I would love to use this, but after looking, there's no airvents anywhere, and I play with pressurization on. Beautiful ship though!

'ey, I had declared this one obsolete because drilling doesn't spew loose rocks anymore. I still have my half-completed refit, actually my changes were fairly radical. anyway, I have mine loaded right now. Quite a few problems remain with my version.

First update in my personal "upgrade" project on this ship has been uploaded. This project of mine is still WIP, but more updates will come as i finish off more.

This was the first major build i made in SE, and its been my "pride and joy" since - the game has however changed A LOT since this build was made back in the days where mirror tool was a "fresh new thing".

I will upload more updated screenshots of the ship soon. Feel free to have a look at it in the meanwhile :)

bleh, had a bit of a setback in the overhaul. I was trying to rig up the daughterships with a proper mergeblock/connector system. This required specific sequencing to dock and undock properly. I rigged it up but when I went to go test it, when the merge blocks fired I lost all of the grouping and sequencing and it wouldn't work. I'm like =| right now... The only other problem is the tail section, I gutted it and shrank it a bit, now I need to re-architect it with jumpies and reasonable furnishings but I'm having trouble arriving at a reasonable floor plan.

As said, its been a long process and i dont mind you reworking it one bit, as long as you mention the original creator in the publication if you publish it.

I've been resurrecting dead ships that can't be loaded without getting medieval on XML files. If you are still active, as in thinking about working on it, then I'll just eagerly await your next publication. I absolutely do not want to step on the toes of the original authors of these.

Its a very old build - but one of my personal favorites. I've been in the process of reworking it, as ALOT has changed in the game since this was built the first time, and updated again. Guess its time for me to have a proper look at getting it done again.

What you talking about accepting the job btw? Anyone offered you a job of reworking it?..or given you permission? :P

impressive work. Me likey! I am a fan of very innovative designs. Still, this is going to be a very tough overhaul if I accept the job. There are internal thrusters all over the thing and I'm going to be hard pressed to find good locations for the the thrust this thing needs. =\
