If the Kalashnikov still owns the gun market, then there must be a worthy Machinegun that happens to be irreplaceable. That would be the FN MAG.

When the Americans saw what the FN Herstal's new Machinegun was capable of, they started replacing the old M60, for it was an "uneasy" machinegun. The result is that almost any 1st world western country uses the FN MAG for both defensive and offensive purposes. In this case, the US started mass producing M240 MMGs, most of the times used with a handguard and a heatshield, which we removed for the sake of decency.
