== PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Valencia represents the greatest feat of technological prowess put forward by MOS Fleetyards. Repeated rounds of testing has shown that the Valencia is a sturdy, reliable ship with heavy armaments and a powerful hull that will see any crew to their intended destination.

It features a double forward hull, with excess armor around the the nose and a drain pan for flood control. It is protected by 4 coilguns and 2 railguns with a near 360 degree coverage. With a neutral ballast of .426, the ship has excellent vertical movement. The engine has been optimized for high output, and can accelerate the ship to impressive underwater speeds. Pumps have been installed across the ship, allowing for maximum flood reduction.

The biggest feature of the Valencia is the electrical system. Instead of directly running the electrical lines from reactor into junction boxes, the Valencia has a multi-tiered system of batteries that allow for power to be reserved and channeled into discrete systems individually. In the case of major damage, these reserves can power the ship for a long time.

== FILE NOTES:
  • The forward and aft sections have doubled-or-tripled armor. The frontal section of ship has a double hull to reduce flooding chances during an attack.
  • Massive multi-tiered battery system allows for charging ship subsystems independently of each other. The reactor can be shut down during emergencies to reduce chances on meltdowns and explosions.
  • 4 coilguns and 2 railguns offers incredible firepower and almost complete area of coverage. The ammo stockpiles are found in the wings of the ship.
  • Medbay is stocked with top of the line material, allowing for the greatest chances of crew survival.
  • All rooms have a water pump or drain.
  • Two oxygen generators cover two sections of the ship, allowing for damage to be taken before the oxygen is completely gone.
  • Plenty of storage for ammo and weapons -- of both personal and ship use.
  • A medical fabricator, a deconstructor, and a fabricator are on board, allowing for adaptation to any situation.
  • Away team gear is located in the command deck, as well as emergency gear located in lockers in both airlocks.
  • Secondary navigation terminal located outside of gunnery deck can have independent sonar for better target acquisition.
  • This mod also contains the original design, named the Valencia Type - B. It is not supported anymore, but is available for use.

  • Make sure electrical engineers watch the charge values of the batteries, otherwise the ship can run into electrical problems.

  • Nuclear meltdowns are uncommon and generally non-fatal to the Valencia but not necessarily the crew. REDACTED

It is as if at a high ping, it is thrown back.

That is a variable ballast system. The ship has 3 tanks that can be used at ballast tanks, but 2 of them are active by default. The third tank can be turned on and off to increase dive speed. The neutral bouyancy of the Valencia is .51 with 2 tanks, but drops to ,35 when the third tank is active (meaning it will sink very quickly and rise slowly). This system was designed to help the Valencia combat currents. The system also allows for manual emptying of a tank in emergencies (like ballast flora) and to cut power to the tank (for ballast flora). There is an issue where the 3rd tank starts with water in it despite the tank being "off" by default.

I still did not understand what the buttons and lamps on the left of the control panel are responsible for.
As I understand it, it is responsible for the ballast.
is this the stealth system ?

The video link says the video doesn't exist.

I did a quick test run and had no issues today on a multiplayer server with bots (and had the hull pierced... Bot shot a danger close nuclear shell). Once I loaded in, there were no FPS issues.

The Valencia doesn't have many shadow casting lights. I think 34 in total? 6 of which are the guns. As I said before, it's strange because another sub I am making is significantly larger and yet doesn't have the FPS issues.

Unfortunately, I am going to be very busy for the next week (or so) and I am unsure as to when I can get to releasing draft 2 of the Valencia. Please have patience with me. I am tracking all bugs and issues. :cozyspaceengineersc:

Also: there is an unfinished "stealth mode" system on the Nav Terminal. It cuts engine force by 80%. It makes the sub run "silent" if you turn off the reactor as well.

In Valencia, I saw the FPS drop, and this can be seen on the video when the hull was pierced and water got into the boat....

I saw how the author of another boat writes about the fact that the shadows are calling for the fall of FPS.

I'll see what I can do to optimise it in the future, admittedly for the sake of aesthetic there are a lot of wires; the usual culprit for FPS drops to my knowledge is lighting and shadows being cast.

It's not something I can reliably test unfortunately, as I've not experienced the drops in frame rate myself.

Once again, feel free to change/remove aspects of the sub for your personal use as you see fit; if you do find the root cause for the issue, post it and I'll see what changes I can make with the feedback!
