Firefly: The Game - All Official Expansions, and more!

The game has been rebuilt from the non-table up.
All "official" expansions included plus some fan expansions and visual upgrades.
More fan expansions and scripting planned for future additions.

We hesitated to make, yet another version of Firefly. After making a ton of mods for our own use, we decided to make a public version. While sprucing it up for prime time... we realized there were too many things that we wanted to change, so we started over from scratch. We did grab a very few assets from previous mods like the ship models. If anyone ever wants to make better ships, please let us know! Here are some
changes:
  • New Table / Play Surface: I started with the Kraken Table but had the suggestion that the table is limiting and a distraction. So, I used the Mod Immersive Table and the code from Gloomhaven Fantasy Setup, to make a play surface with 9 color options.
  • New Scans: All cards, all decks have been freshly scanned for a sharp look.

  • Snap Points: Added snap points to ship cards so that fuel, cargo, etc snap to the correct location. This was a BIG point of frustration that we have fixed.

  • Ship Card Images: New images for ship cards with better color. Added ship badges to the older ships that didn't have them like the new ships do. Bonanza, Serenity, Bonnie Mae, Yun Qi, and Artful Dodger. The ship badges are a fan enhancement, posted on Board Game Geek. Thanks Uniquekind and qwek.

  • Token Images/Containers: All new images for tokens. Thanks to Astromags from BGG, for new clearer images. No more ugly bags dispensing tokens. Tokens now dispense from infinite containers that look like that token. Exception --- Reaver Alert tokens come out of the ships, Alliance Alert tokens come out of the two Alliance ships.

  • 'Verse Theme: No drawstring bags dispensing items. Containers either look like a stack of tokens or they look like a shipping crate. I visually tried to keep everything looking in theme for the canon 'Verse.

  • Credits (money): Remade credits, with new scans. They are made two ways.
    A) Stacks matching the number of bills in the game + 5000 bills. This gives you options and lets you limit available money when the story card calls for it. I also added the 5000 credit bills, just because the artwork is cool.
    B) Infinite containers. Good for games with unlimited money available
    C) Calculators! But wait! There is a third option for keeping track of credits. I will include a ship color-matched, compact calculator for each ship. Great for those who don't want to deal with the bills.
    (May script money tracking in the future)
    Lots of options.

  • Music: (Is this cool, or what?) Added all the tracks from the Firefly Soundtrack Album. Including the theme song. Just for fun and to add to the mood. Drop a Reaver on your opponent? Play "Reavers Chase Serenity". Kill a crew? Play "The Funeral". You get the idea. Check out the Music Player's playlist!

  • Big Damn Rule Book: All rules are in one big PDF and the rule book can "pop-out" so no more holding ALT to view it.

  • Game Mat: Cleaner image of the Whole Damn Verse. The "Venetian Blind" effect on the sector lines is removed, which was hard on the eyes online. The background nebulae were also removed or muted. I miss those and may re-work this in the future.

  • Deck Layout: I made the positions of the supply and contact decks changeable around the board. I used a generic card back, "You can't take the sky from me", as the placeholder watermark. This will let players arrange Supply and Contact decks as they wish. Some players like them in alphabetical order, some like them in directional order from east to west as they appear on the map. Now, you can move them to your liking and save your own version for next time. All place holders have rotating snap points.

  • Orientation: All items orient to the map with their bottoms to the south and tops to the north. NO SIDEWAYS or UPSIDE-DOWN items. All players should keep their view of the board as if sitting on the south side. Set up your ship card on your ship template in that way also, even if your area is on the north side of the board. No More swinging your POV around the table over and over again.

  • Bounty / Alert Board: Remade and reoriented this board. Increased the size to hold the decks. Toned down the bright white color as it was distracting.

  • NO AUTO SHUFFLE!: It was a good idea, in theory, but if you get disconnected in the middle of a game and reload or if you save and finish the game on another day, all your decks shuffle when you come back... in the middle of the game! ...So not cool! Eventually, we will code a button to shuffle all decks. You will have to remember to shuffle, but you will have control.

  • Tool Tips: All items should have a tool tip when you mouse over them. Reports of missing tool tips or spelling errors are welcomed and encouraged.

  • Ship Colors and Accessories: Tweaked ship colors to better match ship cards and make them more distinct from each other. Gave every ship a color matched Haven Token, Firefly die, and compact calculator. I also included ship specific drive core cards for the older ships. Not original, but is it really fair that only the upgrade ships get this? It doesn't change game play, It just looks cool. I will also include qwek from BGG's "Unique Firefly's" variant. Which gives each ship a starting upgrade, branded for that ship. It helps even out the original ships with the shiny upgrade ships. This variant can be removed to play the original base game. But I love this small change so it will be standard. Original, non visually branded, drive cores are available to use if you really want that "original game" experience.

  • Trash Barrel: Provided a container to clean up unused items. Toss in killed crew cards and other cards that are "removed from play". Clean up unpicked leader cards, extra ships. Throw out infinite tokens that you want to get rid of fast, instead of finding their correct container. As I am normally acting as game host, I just deleted this stuff, but often other players want to chuck stuff too. I find it frustrating, when not the host, to not have the power to clean-up! Also, nice to not permanently destroy some of that stuff if a question arises.

Pro Tip- Rotate all cards to be readable from one side so you all see the playing area right-side up. All players keep their point of view on the same side. We think it works better than reading upside-down or constantly swinging your view around the table.

Everything from the base game loaded for me, but the Alliance Cruiser and the backs of the Misbehave cards were invisible. I was able to fix by setting TTS graphics settings to "Very Low" and restarting the game.

This is really nice but its not loading many images in the decks. A fix would be awesome.

@TrekScout or @swiftsail, a friend and I settled on your workshop recently to feed our virtual gaming sessions. We originally wanted to play the base game, so I had to take the time to sort out all the cards. Afterwards, since I had already sorted everything, I took the time to script out some automation for our future sessions. Currently it is sitting in a private workshop, but should you be interested I would be more than happy to link up with you to see/have the scripting I used. Thank you for the wonderful work you and your group have done with this game.

Will this be getting an update when the new content drops in Jan? I backed the Collector's Edition and I got a friend interested in playing this game with me, including on TTS, so being able to play with ALL the content will be nice once we are up to speed.
