What does this mod do?
This mod changes every nation's name to that in their original culture's language, during the 1444 start date or earlier.
Example: "Spain" becomes "España".





Current Features:
  • A fully localised Europe.
  • A fully localised Asia.
  • A fully localised Africa.
  • A fully localised Oceania.
  • A fully localised North and South America.
  • Ironman compatible



Known Issues:
  • Nations who's name are not originally in Latin have been romanized.
  • A few nations still haven't been translated correctly.
  • Not all names are correct, mistakes may be addressed in the sticky below.
  • EU4 doesn't accept alot of UTF-8 characters, not even something as simple as the Nordic alphabet, so a lot of nations their names have been dumbed down.



I want to contribute
The research into old and forgotten languages for this mod is quite hard, and not everything is accurate.
Most of the translations were taken from Wikipedia and other sources.

If you'd happen to know any translations for nations their names, feel free to contribute by adding to the discussion posts.
In case you notice any bugs or other issues, please let us know, and we'll address them.

Although I'm not familiar with Victorum, there's a good chance they use different tags for some of these nations. If you're in the game, you can open the console and enter "debug_mode", then proceed to hover your mouse over Poland. If their tag is not "POL", they're not the vanilla Poland.

I'm having an issue with this mod while I'm running Victorum Universalis, most of the smaller nations are getting localised but large european majors like Poland, Hungary, Spain are not is there any workaround / advice you can give me that isn't just "don't use victorum universalis'? Have already tried top of the load order, bottom of the load order, etc.

I'll put in some effort to bring it up to date again, but the few nations that are currently missing from the localisation are in places like Polynesia, so the mod is still usable if that doesn't bother you.
