Animal Armors

描述
this mod adds craftable armors which can be equipped on all (vanilla) animals, it comes in 4 tiers, from light to extreme.

NOTE 1: due to engine limitations, these armors WILL NOT provide protection against crossbows or harpoons, when you craft the armor, it says it has harpoon protection (ranged defence) but once you put it on any animal and close the inventory, the ranged defence permanently dissapears from the item. YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED

NOTE 2: because of how normal armors work, and the fact that animals only have 1 inventory slot, i have not added visual models for the armors. in return, this leaves the mod MUCH smaller and simplistic though.

NOTE 3: apparently there's a glitch in the game that sometimes cause animals with any sort of armor values to insta-die when hit (animals wearing any armos like these) so be sure to save often! it's not something i believe i can fix.

these armors are set so they can be equipped on all vanilla animals! so if you have mods to recruit beakthings or gorillo's, these armors can be put on them too!

there's 4 versions of the armors
each armor is unlocked by researching the crafting table they're crafted at
light=leather=leather crafting bench
medium=chain=chain crafting bench
heavy=metal=heavy armor crafting
extreme=robotics=robotic limb crafting table

the armors cannot be bought

enjoy! now you can finally rest easy that your animals have some protection too

for modding tools, i used the mod tools that are in the game files themselves, i forgot what it's called, but if you use that to add the relevant equip tags to the other mod, or this mod, that should fix your issue, since i can't put tags on this stuff for things that dont exist.
also i havent played or modded kenshi in like 5 years so i dont really remember anything.

The Alpha Boneyard Hound from UWE can equip the armor so you can get some use out of it

2 years later and i am running into the same problem lmao. Cant put these armors on my dogs. I am also running UWE so it is probably a mod conflict. Can I ask which application you use to open the mod files? I want to try and see what the issue is

oh, well, I basicly just use UWE, and cosmetic mods, mainly do to mod conflicting problems, but I am autisic and love dogs and want so bad to protect my bonedogs

that sounds like a mod conflict of some sort
the armour can be put on anything with specific tags, if you have a mod that touches the animals in the game, that would probably do it

granted, using this mod is risky to begin with, due to the glitch that can cause your pets to insta-die if hit so

I can only put it on a spider bot for some reson, I have tryed every pet I can buy so far and a small surcuraty bot is all I have been able to put any armor on

if anyone else encounters this glitch, please do report it to the bug report forums, as i dont really use animals in my game anymore, and it's outside of my ability to fix.

This mod actually does the opposite of keeping them safe, it makes them more likely to be 1-shot.

That has happened in the past with animal armors. This is a known bug with how armors work on animals. There was a Dire Wolf mod that had animal armor, which did the same thing.

I don't believe the author ever heard back from the devs about it either.
