Street Stock - 1978 GCM G-1 484SS

A road-going pickup truck, modified to race on short oval tracks. The builder of this one bought an old sports truck and turned it into an homage to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series star, Matt Crafton.
In the real world, street stock race cars are called by many names, but they all have one thing in common; they are very close to their original counterparts, unlike modern NASCAR race cars. Many use the original body parts, or panels copied by craftsmen in other materials. Their extremely low cost makes them very popular in rural and suburban America.
This was built entirely from scratch by sight, except for the grille, which was imported from the original vehicle. All credit goes to Mushy and GC for the original design of the truck.
