1978 GCM G-1 484SS

A GCM G-1 sport trim level with a much larger V8, painted bumpers and trim, sport rims, red badging, and 484SS decals.

In the late 70s, GCM saw fit to introduce a "sport truck" version of the G-1. The old reliable 398cui V8 was dropped in favor of the 484cui engine, the top of the line model used in some preformance cars at the time. The truck it was built off of was not designed for speed, and consequently the engine was truly too powerful for the basic RWD drivetrain, leading to poor handling and slow 0-60 times when pitted against real muscle cars.
