Designed with deep systems fidelity and realism in mind, the RV Kasugano Sora offers multitudes of functionality for all scenarios. With plentiful storage space, she can be configured to carry mission-related cargo and equipments in ISO Container Form such as additional fuel tanks, ROVs, UAVs, containerized remote control room, supply containers, guided missiles, and more. Primarily a Research Vessel, she is also capable of firefighting, towing and supporting diving operations. She is also capable of hosting up to 2 submersibles docked on her underwater airlock.

You dont need to stop and recharge, the Electric Propulsion battery is indeed designed to be discharged to very low levels. The electrical circuit for essential system components such as navigation systems, doors, etc is located in another bus, the General Circuit bus.

If, however, the general circuit bus is discharging (the indicator is at the bridge, to the right of the captain's chair above the endurance range display, or at the Engine Control Room, besides the circuit breakers) you will need to turn on an APU generator and direct its output to the General Circuit Bus.

Might be caused by pressing it in too quick of a succession. Simply cycle the relevant system's circuit breaker from the Engine Control Room and the problem will resolve itself.

This ship only has bilge pumps on the cargo bay (controlled by a switch inside the cargo bay), and the airlocks between the cargo bay and the Well Dock (automatically enabled when water is detected). Additionally the diving airlock below the equipment storage beside the crew mess can also be used to pump water out. If you damage the ship and a compartment is flooding, you can try opening a path to either the cargo bay, or the diving airlock, and pump the water out from there.

With a semi-double hull design, she can easily withstand a collision to her bow or stern. However, the area around the engine room is her weakpoint, as a collision there might set the engines ablaze, or cut critical fuel lines. In such cases there is an engine room fire sprinkler you can use to extinguish it.

She is also designed and tested to withstand rough waves, including the tsunami. Her very low center-of-mass will make it impossible for her to capsize, unless something is terribly wrong, or there is excess cargo on the weather deck.

That being said, she is not designed to withstand the venerable Megalodon. Some said she can survive such attack, but do be very cautious when you see a black fin while sailing, or when the HORUS system detects a seemingly moving landmass.

As this ship is designed with realism and deep system simulation in mind, do read the manual, especially the checklist. It is not a click-and-go kind of ship

This ship uses the dual circuit design pattern, one for Electric Propulsion (EP), one for General Circuit (GC). The EP Bus powers the ship's two azimuth thrusters and engine starters, the GC Bus powers everything else including electronics and pumps.

This allows her to perform a limited 27 knots sprint by fully discharging the EP Bus without browning out the electronics and door controls linked to the GC Bus.

The EP Bus is linked to three large batteries and a single medium accumulator battery. Connection to the large batteries are controlled by the three circuit breakers in the Engine Control Room. The medium accumulator battery is the one monitored by the automated generator governor, and is what shows up in the bridge and other battery information screens.

The EP Bus is powered primarily by the Main Engine No. 2 which functions as a Generator, outputting a maximum of 632 kWe (or sWatts, whatever that thing is...). It is additionally able to be supplemented by the two Small APU Generator, outputting 50 kWe (sWatts) each.

The GC Bus is powered by small generators taking mechanical power from the 3 main engine shafts, and stores power in 4 medium battery accumulators. Additionally it can also be supplemented by the two small APU Generator when configured to do so. When the 3 main engines are operating in low speeds, it might be necessary to power up one APU routed to GC, to keep the GC bus charge high.

The RV Kasugano Sora is powered by 3 main large diesel engines. Engines 1 and 3 powers the two propellers, linked with a drive shaft through a 5:9 gearbox. The propellers themselves are placed at the end of an angled mount, of which the angle can be modified in the transmission crawlspace.

The operation of engines 1 and 3 are semi-automatic, with a throttle lever commanding the requested RPM. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) will then automatically start the engines if necessary, and maintain the requested RPM by modifying throttle. Due to the clutchless design of the transmission, the engines will automatically stop when commanded an RPM value of around zero. As such it is normal to hear the engine restarting on its own during transition to reverse, or when stopping and sailing again.

Engine number 2 powers a Large Generator, outputting 632kWe (sWatts) of electricity routed to the Electric Propulsion Bus. It is a fully automatic system, set to maintain full EP Bus Charge. In other words, when the EP Bus is getting discharged, the engine will automatically spool up to recharge it.

All three main engines also has one small generators attached to each output shaft, directed to the GC Bus. This will keep the GC Bus recharged during cruise. During low-speed situations or when the boat is stopped, the GC Bus will need extra power from the APU.

Besides the three main engines, the RV Kasugano Sora also has 2 APU Generators, each capable of producing 50 kWe (sWatts) of electricity. The output of this 2 APU can individually configured to recharge the EP Accumulators, or the GC Accumulators. This flexibility will allow various workload on each bus in multiple situations, such as when using cranes and other high-current devices on the GC Bus while the ship is stopped by routing both APU the GC, or when extra speed is required by routing both APU to EP.

The RV Kasugano Sora has 5 fuel tanks and 5 ballast tanks with pumps that helps keeping balance when carrying cargo. The primary pump controls are located at the navigation bridge, to the left of the engineer's chair. Additionally there is a second fuel tank pump controls in the Engine Control Room.

The ship partially relies on the contents of those tanks to maintain stability and low center-of-mass. It is not recommended to sail with empty tanks, as it will be unstable during turns, even with stabilizer hydroplanes enabled.

The central collector tank is the only tank that supplies fuel to the 3 Main Engines and 2 APU Generators. As such, when the ship is operating, keep the collector tank full by supplying it with fuel from the other 4 storage fuel tanks. It is recommended to use the Main Storage Tank first, then when it is depleted, the Aft Fuel Tank, then the 2 reserve tanks.

The ship spawns with the ballast tanks filled, to compensate players that has unlimited fuel disabled. If you have unlimited fuel enabled, you will need to pump water out of the ballast tanks to reduce weight, as the ship will already be heavy enough with the fuel tanks filled

The main console is located right in front of the captain's seat, and offers a quick overview of the entire ship's status as well as navigation and maneuvering information.

The navigation console is located left to the captain's seat, and are self explanatory in-game.

Located just right of the main console, displaying real-time sonar and radar data to assist navigation in shallow or narrow waterways. Also able to detect underwater obstructions such as coral reefs, sand banks or underwater cliff walls to prevent running aground.
Blue/Black means all water, Green means obstruction.

Located right of the HORUS System, contains 2 levers:

• Azipod Thrust Limiter, to limit azimuth thruster speed
  
• Azipod Angle Limiter, to limit azimuth thruster rotation angle, preventing excessive heeling while turning.

To the right of the levers are battery information gauges and estimated endurance range on current sailing configuration

Shows real time flooding indicated by red colour overlay. Also shows ballast and fuel tank level.
Also located here is the alert and warning mute buttons.
The warnings are as follows:

• FLOOD - One or more compartments are flooded
  
• LO-WGT - The ship's fluid stores are too light, pump in water to the ballast.
  
• FUEL - Fuel is getting low
  
• COLLEC - Fuel Collector tank is not getting replenished. Always leave a pump running to pump in fuel from other tanks to the collector tank.
  
• GC-BAT - The ship's General Circuit battery is getting low. Turn on an APU Generator and route it's output to the General Circuit.

Loosely based on the A-10's TGP MFCD Page, this display can show and control the masthead camera, or a remote camera through radio link.

• To use masthead camera, turn the mast switch ON (below the display) and the display switch itself ON (to the right of the display).
  
• Press 1 to enable/disable Inertial tracking, indicated by "INR" on-screen.
  
• Press 2 or 3 to control zoom.
  
• The laser ranger button and IR button is self-explanatory.
  
• The green dot on the screen shows relative heading of the camera in reference to the ship.
  
• The xxxT display on top (e.g. 084T) shows the true heading of the camera.
  
• To switch to remote feed, input the frequency on the keypad and press the remote source button.

Skip if you have "Unlimited Fuel" gamemode On, as you will already spawn with fuel filled
