Inspired by the PT20 Hydrofoils (the same model of Hydrofoil used in to create the Disco Volante Yacht from the 1965's "James Bonds - Fireball". These Hydrofoils were in actual Service in the Coastal and River Regions of New Zealand and later in Australia (Sydney). You can find them under the name Manu Wai. Never intending to build a Replica I created this originally as Testbed for a Hydrofoil System and then decided to make it into an actual Creation. The Livery is completely fictional.

Please do not re-upload this without my Permission. Please respect the Time and Effort it took to create this Vehicle.

Quick Spec Rundown:
  • Length: 21m
  • Top Speed of 57 Knots at maximum ride height and calm waters
  • Estimated maximum Range of 120 km / 1 Hour of cruising time (Full throttle / foilborn)
  • 22 Seats

Notes:
  • It doesn't feature any AP Systems due to it being designed for Rivers / Coastal Ferry Routes
  • It doesn't like heavy Waves, I strongly advise to lower the ride height when going through choppy waters
  • Be gentle with the Throttle, she has plenty of power
  • I recommend slowing down before deactivating the Foil Systems - makes for a more smooth Landing

PMCs used:
/None - all my Logic this Time :P

Updates:
-updated gearing after engine rebalance - less top speed but higher fuel economy (values currently out of date)

avoid cutting up sharks

so uhhh how do I move without the boat becoming a dolphin?

Still works fine. Top speed is around 57 knots with engines under 360 RPM. As mentioned, coastal & river ferry so zero navigation aides of any kind, not even a compass or navball.

Ah, I see. So what is behind the number on the throttle, because you would want to tell it to get higher and it would go higher, but yours the higher the number the lower the height?

Here's a quick Breakdown: Both Foils (Front & Back) have a individual PID and a Altimeter placed on the same horizontal height. The Process Var. of the PID's is the current readout of the Altimeters. The Ride height is defined by changing the setpoint to make the PID's change the angle of the control surfaces which then levels out the ship at a certain "Altitude".

Sir Murtak, I love this ship! I am wondering how you set up the ride height for the foils. I am designing a potential hydrofoil and this information would be a great help to me. As always, great build!
