Ship Reverse Engineering

描述
This extension adds an option to a player-owned shipyard or equipment dock to analyze a docked ship you own, destroying it but learning blueprints from it.

To use, dock the ship to analyze at the station and then contact either the ship trader or manager. Select Analyze Ship and then the ship to analyze. Only ships from which you can learn new blueprints will be displayed. Everything on the ship will be destroyed along with it, so remove any important staff or other items before starting.

If you are using a shipyard and you don't have the hull blueprint for the ship, you always get that. Otherwise, you get one or more random blueprints among the equipment on the ship: shields, thrusters, weapons, turrets, or engines.

The analysis will take up one of your ship build/equip slots while in progress. It will show up as if you were building a new ship, so you can check the time remaining. If you cancel, you will not get your ship back, so don't do that. :)

Feedback on balance would be appreciated. The blueprint costs are all over the place but I tried to set it up so it's not a guarantee you want to analyze; it should depend on the item, how badly you want it NOW as opposed to a while in the future, and how much you want the build slot it will take up.

I don't know if this was intended, but I've noticed something for S/M ships. If I start reverse engineering 1 ship, and start reverse engineering other ships of the same class, every single similar ship will unlock one more equipment blueprint. I won't be able to reverse engineer any more of the same class of ship, after finishing reverse engineering the first ship. I was able to reproduce this with L/XL ships, but only for 1 or 2 ships per class. Cheers all. o7

Is it possible to release a special version, or add an option in the settings that allows players to obtain the blueprints of the ship and all its equipped components instantly?
Actually, the reason I installed this mod is that there’s a bug in my game—all blueprints from the timeline become unavailable after research. I wanted to use this mod to fix the bug, but unfortunately, its specific mechanics make this unrealistic.:Gifting:

I have noticed that some of the ship dealers seem to be gone once I added the mod. Including the one of my own build Wharf.

I captured some Xenon ships and wanted to use the mod. But I wanted to get blueprints of the weapons, shields, thrusters and engines as well.

It needs as many build drones as it normally takes to build a ship at max speed

Tbf currently I don't have any building drones, do I just need more to make it speed up?
