The Dead Man's Switch - Remodeled

描述
Since I've given up on this game, anyone who wants to take this mod and tinker with it is welcome to do so, as long as they make it clear that I have nothing to do with whatever they do to it. In part, I've given up on this game because of the way even a mod that does nothing but add items to merchants gets endless complaints about it 'breaking" the original game, and because so many people seem to not bother to read the instructions for installing a mod so that it a) works, and b) doesn't break their game. I play games to have fun, not to deal with constant complaints from people who can't be bothered to read the directions that are posted in the description of a mod.

The original description AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE MOD are still displayed below.

================================================

The original Dead Man's Switch campaign, remodeled to allow for character and item import, with gear from the Street Samurai Catalog Data pack by tracker.bpm, and Magical Tattoos v2 by tamerlanemohammad, added to the merchants in the Seamstress Union.

In order to use this pack you need to do the following things, or your game WILL crash, and will probably corrupt your save data, too.

1. Subscribe to Street Samurai Catalog Data and Magical Tattoos v2.

2. Use your file manager to search for Data.cpz

3. When the search finishes, choose the file that's in:
/Steam/userdata/<longnumber>/ugc/referenced/<verylongnumber>/contentpacks (The verylongnumber is Steam's ID for the file)

3. Inside the contentpacks/ folder, use 7zip or winzip or whatever file compression utility you have installed to open <veryverylongnumber>-street samurai catalog data.cpz

4. Save the folder that's inside that .cpz file to:
/Steam/SteamApps/common/Shadowrun Returns/Shadowrun_Data/StreamingAssets/ContentPacks/

5. Delete the long string of numbers at the beginning of the folder name, so that the only thing the folder name says is Street Samurai Catalog Data

6. Now, go back to step 2 and repeat steps 2 through 5 for magical_tattoos.cpz
After you've unzipped the folder that's inside <veryverylongnumber>-magical_tattoos.cpz, delete the <veryverylongnumber> so that you end up with a folder named magical_tattoos.

7. Now repeat steps 2 through 5 one more time, this time searching for dead_man_switch_remodeled.cpz
After you've unzipped the folder that's inside <veryverylongnumber>-dead_man_switch_remodeled.cpz, delete the <veryverylongnumber> so that you end up with a folder named dead_man_switch_remodeled

8. Start your game program.
Go to the main menu, and click on the CONTENT button.
You'll see all three of the new packs in the content list, listed twice: once as "subscribed" and once as "installed". As far as I can tell, it doesn't really matter whether you play from the "installed" or "subscribed" entry on the list. I've been able to play through the game with both.

Whenever there's an update to this pack (which will only happen when new data is added to the packs it depends on that requires me to make fixes to include it), you'll have to go through the whole process again, thanks to:

A. HBS says there is absolutely no way a content pack can see data that's inside another pack's .cpz package,
and
B. Steam's subscription system does not automatically unzip and install the content packs for you, the way it should.

If the game crashes on you, or otherwise gives you trouble, it would be very helpful to anyone who tries to help troubleshoot it if you were to find the analysis file for that play session. You can find the game's analysis files by going to /Steam/SteamApps/common/Shadowrun Returns/DumpBox
Each analysis file is named by the date and time it was saved. So, for instance, a file saved on August 12 at 4:01:48 PM would be named 0812 16-01-48Analysis.txt
Since I have no idea what the people at HBS might consider useful, uploading the entire file to somewhere like Dropbox or Pastebin, or your own personal web space if you have any, is probably the best way to make it accessible so that it can be used for troubleshooting.

Here's a thing I haven't heard mentioned: I've been having some runner selection weirdness. Like the ONLY one available for the Telestrian break-in is Dodger weirdness.

Hi. Love the mod, but I'm not able to use the delta wired reflexes III cyberware in combat, although the build works in the trainer and all the other SSC cyber I've got works (medikit cyberarm, delta dermal III), and I see that Dr. Castle sells the DWRIII. Can anyone replicate that?

Unfortunately, that seems to be what Steam does when you download stuff. What do you get when you examine the download file?
TheMerciless 2014 年 2 月 14 日 下午 10:50
Hey, I can't seem to get the .cpz file. All I get is a download file in the download folder and nothing in the referenced folder. Could ya check that out for me?
