Grumman F-14B Tomcat

The latest in my work, I have built the Grumman F-14B Tomcat.

Easily the most iconic aircraft of the era, the Tomcat is probably one of my favorite builds.

This supersonic, twin-engine aircraft has two seats, the Pilot and the Radar Intercept Officer. Built after the collapse of the F-111B project, the Tomcat was the US Navy's premier Air-Superiority fighter from 1974 and onwards. She was the pinnacle of Fleet Defense, notably featured in "Top Gun". With Iran being credited with as many as 159 kills with the F-14, she is a formidable aircraft. First Seeing ground attack duties in the early 1990s, and the addition of the LANTIRN pod, the aircraft excelled wherever assigned.

With her unique engine placement and wing design, the F-14 is a joy to fly.

I've built this aircraft's functions around team-work, and multiplayer, and it includes a groundbreaking startup checklist.
Both the Pilot and RIO must work together to prepare the aircraft to fly (Don't worry, on a lag-free server, you can do it in less than 30 seconds).

Just like the real F-14, My version of this aircraft is tempermental. This is no F-18. Automation is at a minimum. Flying this will not be a piece of cake. Pending an improvement in game physics, I don't expect this to change.

There are some restricting game mechanics, a majority of them resulting in the hyper-accurate landing gear and wing fold.

Everything in this aircraft was built as close as I could get to the real one, and I hope you appreciate it!

Startup is more complicated than other aircraft, however, if you wish, you can go into the nose gear well and enable "SOLO Mode", which allows the aircraft to be started with simply the "Systems Enable" Key.

1. Enter Aircraft
   
2. Enable RIO Cockpit Circuit Breaker
   
3. Oversweep must be OFF (Nose Gear Well)
   
4. Pilot Turns Systems Enable Key
   
5. Pilot keeps Manual Sweep Disabled
   
6. RIO Calibrates INS

After each step is complete, the RIO Must click "Verify" On their right side panel.

After these steps are complete, and the dial reads "6", The aircraft can just be throttled up to fly.

There are some bugs (notably with the flight model,) that the devs have to fix, (I can't do anything about it), but, otherwise, I hope you enjoy your time in the Danger Zone!
