Big Iron - An Alternative Condor Class for the Novakid Ship

I had a period of time where I was in an obsessive episode with Starbound. That was years ago. Since the time I made this mod, I have graduated college, gotten married, and found a career. I don't even remember how to use JSON. I love that so many people are still finding and playing Starbound, but I'm afraid I can no longer update any of these mods. If you would like to see changes made to them, I insist you learn the basics of coding and try it yourself! You might even be able to make your own mods that are way better than mine!

I've been long asked to make a cruiser for the Novakid, but something about that felt wrong. A cruiser doesn't really fit them. Every piece of promotional material shows them with a train, so why not just redesign the train? This locomotive just replaces the final upgrade of the ship, as the last upgrade always seemed to be the least useful. The ships most people have voted in the past as their favorites are the ones with the closest clumping of uniquely shaped rooms, so while I tried to keep the tall and wide rooms that a lot of people use in the Novakid ship, I got rid of the massive warehouse at the back and relocated all of that space into a massive locomotive engine. This means you don't need a teleporter to get around the fully upgraded ship, and might make it less resource intensive due to it being a smaller overall width.

The Big Iron is based on the BL 18 inch railway howitzer and BL 15-inch Mk I naval guns used by the British in WWI & WWII. The latter was used as a coastal battery to fire over the English channel against the axis forces. The Novakid that designed it loves sniper rifles, but noted that they weren't all that effective against enemy starships. Instead of building a gun from scratch, they modified a broken FTL engine to fire 1550mm tungsten slugs. While you might need to move the entire ship to aim the gun, there's a level of satisfaction in vaporizing a Miniknog space station or Cultist ship from a full astronomical unit away.

This mod does NOT break pre-existing save files as long as you don't have a Tier-9 ship mod installed. If you do have that installed, don't get this mod.

If you have a save with a ship already at T8, it won't break it, and you can keep using that ship to your heart's content. If you already have a Tier 8 ship and want to change it to this layout, remove every object and item from the big warehouse in the back and use the command /upgradeship '{"shipLevel":9}'

A big thanks to eLe on the chucklefish forums for the original code for tier 9 ships that makes the upgrade from the normal condor-class to this work. I was going to reach out to her, but then I saw that her last time on the site was in July of 2017, so I thought I'd just credit her here.
