Asra's Katana

描述
I found the vanilla Solus Katana pretty boring, considering that Asra's got a lot of attacks and we only get to use the Kunai Blast. So I decided to fix this.

This mod reworks Solus Katana to be a randomly-generated weapon, with each individual Katana sporting one of the four randomly assigned alt abilities, custom swooshes, custom active and inactive idle stances, 25% damage reduction while active, a 9-hit combo that becomes 12-hit once upgraded at the Upgrade Anvil... but now consuming 10 energy per second, along with 5 energy per hit.

Alt abilities:
- Solus Slash: a reworked Blink Slash with the swoosh taken from Asra's spritesheet.
- Energy Beam: a custom ability that consumes a lot of energy and freezes you in place in exchange for tremendous damage in a straight line in front of you.
- Solus Dash: a reworked Trail Dash, usable both on ground and in the air. The invincibility effect has Solus Shield visuals, much like Asra during her attack phase.
- Kunai Blast: reworked with more projectiles, fired in a formation similar to Asra's. Each individual Kunai's explosion force had to be toned down a bit, as during testing it was destroying blocks when fired directly on the ground.

Compatibility:
- Project Blade Dance - compatible, but swooshes can behave strangely.
- FU - Shouldn't conflict, assuming it doesn't modify the original Solus Katana.

6/28/2022 - cleaned up the description a bit, made it more obvious that each indivial Katana can have a maximum of one ability. Should probably have done that years ago though.

there's 4 possible alt abilities + the primary combo; that mod, to my knowledge, only has the potential of 3 alt attacks (rmb, shift+lmb and shift+rmb) and 1 primary. i assume that mod requires a tag for the item to be compatible, so it likely wouldn't work unless i edit it, and since there are more alt abilities than possible slots i don't see a good reason to omit one of the abilities to combine them

would it work with the weapon retrofitting station to combine all the attacks int one weapon?

not planning on removing it from the mod, but you can spawn one without the drain using /spawnitem soluskatana 1 '{"primaryAbility":{"energyUsage":0}}'

i'll consider making a version of this mod with cycling alt abilities rather than randomly distributed per-weapon, but just a disclaimer, i'm currently reasonably content with this mod and am not planning to return to modding any time soon.

this mod is good and bad, good because it gives the player new attacks to Solus Katana, but bad because you have to use 4 Solus Katanas for each attack, it would be better to make those attacks randomize each time you press RMB on a single Solus Katana.

the modded katana replaces the original one. in hindsight that's an oversight, buuut i didn't know all the best practices 3 months into modding when i made this

does it replace the normal solus katana or is it a seperate item, so i could have both?
