CCTV Camera Overlay (Animatable)

描述
Not only can you simply just put in an overlay for a CCTV effect, there are actually ten overlays in this pack, which when looped together can animate the CCTV effect!

I'd really appreciate ratings, as it'd get my products out faster to more people. I know it's difficult for most people to get their hands on good assets for animating overlays, much less the overlays themselves, and I want to keep producing content related to this.

Hello! Thank you for picking up the CCTV Overlay animation pack!

I will proceed to explain how to operate these frames properly, assuming you've got little to no experience with overlays. If not, continue reading please.

Please understand, that to properly animate the CCTV, that you will basically be making a 2-D animation with the overlays, which is placed over the 3-D animation. In the following process, I will explain how to make overlays, and how to properly animate them.
This may seem like a lot of information, but I'm simply going step by step, making sure that you understand the process and don't get lost between steps.

STEP 1: Open Source Filmmaker. Start a new project, or open the project you'd like to use the effect on.

STEP 2: Identify the timeline on the bottom right hand side of the screen. Scroll down until you see 'Overlays'.

STEP 3: Right click 'Effects', and in the opening options, click 'Add clip to track'. A new window should open, labeled 'Select Effect'

STEP 4: Click 'Material Overlay Effect' and then 'OK'. Inside the overlay portion of the timeline, there should be a new red box called 'New Clip'. Whenever the header is on or within a portion of this red box, the overlay will be active. However, you haven't given this new clip any information on what you need to be shown. Right click 'New Clip', and then click 'Show In Element Viewer.'

STEP 5: On the top left corner, the element viewer should be showing the details of this new clip. Being a brand new clip, it should look something like this.To tell the new clip that you want to show the CCTV image, go ahead and click the three dots as labeled above. A new window labeled 'sfm' will open.

STEP 6: Type CCTV into the filter section at the bottom. All of the CCTV frames, 1-10, should appear. If nothing appears, click 'Rescan' up at the top, and SFM will search the file directory to make sure that it didn't miss the files. If it still cannot find the files, redo step 1, ensure you put the files in the right place, and then click rescan again. If the files do appear, go ahead and select CCTV_CAM_F1.vmt, and click 'open'.

STEP 7: Now immediately upon opening the file, you'll notice something. It's an opaque image! I can't see through it! No need to worry. Simply go back to the element viewer, and click the white box next to 'Overlay color'. A color box will open, but ignore all of the colors, and simply go to the bottom. There should be a checkerbox style screen, and next to that, is a number '255'. To rectify the problem, merely change it to '254'. Congrats, you can now see through the overlay!

STEP 8: Now that you've got an overlay, this is basically the first 'frame' of your 2-D animation over the 3-D one. Start adding all of the other frames now, through the same process from STEPS 4-8, and simply choose the next CCTV frame. So CCTV_CAM_F2.vmt would be the next frame you choose, then CCTV_CAM_F3, so on and so forth. WARNING: MAKE SURE TO CLICK 'SHOW IN ELEMENT VIEWER' FOR EACH FRAME BEFORE MANIPULATING THE ELEMENT VIEWER, OTHERWISE IT WILL BE SHOWING THE LAST CCTV FRAME YOU WERE WORKING ON, INSTEAD OF THE ONE YOU HIGHLIGHTED.

STEP 9:

Once all of these overlay frames are in the timeline, merely put the red boxes in order, from CCTV_CAM_F1, all the way to CCTV_CAM_F10, go ahead and play the video. The CCTV, picking up the visual from each frame as the header passes through it, will now be 'animated' the frames. To make the process speed up or slow down, lengthen and shorten the red blocks until the desired speed of the CCTV overlay is reached. To continue the animation, merely put another CCTV_CAM_F1 frame after CCTV_CAM_F10, and the animation will loop. Put in as many cycles of this, overlay frames 1-10 as you please, for however long you need the CCTV effect.

It's not a video, it's a poster

Export the video frame by frame for 1 second, and choose any of the 24 frames it exports. Otherwise I couldn't tell you. It's been years since I've been on SFM.
